Texas Invitational: King of the Streets

Texas Invitational: King of the Streets
What: Texas Invitational
When: April 29, 2012
Where: Deep in the Heart of Texas
Over 60 high horsepower (700hp-1500hp+) street cars were in attendance competing for the "King of the Streets" honor. Simple concept, roll to 60mph, wait for the green light and race for 1500ft. There was one winner. I was lucky enough to make the top 4. We had some grudge matches and some open session test and tune leading up to the competition. I had just installed 110lb injectors, re-tuned and thought the clutch was slipping on the dyno (turned out it was spinning the tires) so I played it safe on the first couple runs. Mike Bailey and I ran early in the morning and he beat me by a nose. I was running about 1.4 bar. Also, while testing, I ran a 1200hp GTR and lost by a bus. I was running about 1.55 bar. Neither run was on my camera. But later, I was able to finally turn it up and run with the big dogs.
Here are my vids: (There are more side/car vids yet to be processed. Enjoy
800-875 HP Twin Turbo Corvette
1000hP FireBird with BIG bad burnout! (Notice that I completely miss 5th and shift into neutral) I still won
800hp TTCorvette
900HP TT GT500
Mullet's 1100hp TTSC Ford GT
Finally the (1200hp?) TTViper that eliminated me:

Yea, I was sweating the fact that I may have to run him. He's making 1200+ AND he's got an automatic tranny. I had him for most of the run but the HP and displacement got me.

did you get your engine botailed or shuffle pinned? Do you know what size the engine bolts are 11 or 12mm?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Nope, he came up to me after and said that he shifts too slow and loses boost. He complimented me on my shifting skills. YOU HEAR THAT TTBOOST???

NO, they were eliminated before I could run them. Thanks Matt.
