Turbo vs NA

Turbo vs NA
When I step on the gas pedal of a 996 C4 from a stop, the car responds immediately. However, with the 996 Trubo (std version), it waits for a second or two before it really kicks off. Is this because of the "turbo lag"? Anyway, the C4 gives me a feeling that it is much more responsive than the Turbo. Any views from the Turbo experts?

I drove a 2002 C4S that belongs to a buddy. We actually swapped cars for a day. The C4S is a great car, with all the advantages of the TT, except the HP and the Torque. The thing I missed the most in the C4S was the amazing torque of the TT. There is no reason not to be happy with a C4S........but you will never find a TT owner saying "I wish I had bought a C4S".

I def. agree that the turbo is a superior car in many ways!! Okay.... With that said... Anyone who doesnt want their C4S... I will take it in my custody for you

I owned a 2002 996 NA. The reason I am now driving a TT is that I test drove a TT then sadly drove my car home. Within a week I was in the TT.
Once when I was in college, a lonnng time ago, I thought I raced a Carrera RS while driving my Opel Manta. Afterwards the other driver just gave me a nod and a wink. Like "yea right". Kind of reminds me of this post.

I know it's not the best time to bring it up, but we're talking about a narrow band of NA and turbo here - what about CGT? What about GT3, which in many tests out-accelerates the TT even up to 100mph. Both these cars are NA, with natural, linear power bands, no turbo spooling.

Feel superior in the torque dept guys, but turbo power is not near as much "fun" or precise to drive as NA, at least in IMO. On the track the AWD is annoying and even on the street turbo power delivery feels artificial and disconnected. Apples to apples, NA has it all over turbo power any time in my book. Which is why the turbo is going bye-bye...
