Widest front tires?

What are the widest front tires we can use on an 19 inch wheel?

Due to restricted tire manufacturing in R compound the below are my choices:
225/40ZR19 89W
235/35ZR19 87W
245/40ZR19 94W

I am RWD so no need to compensate with rear.

Thank you.

Any issues or rubbing at all, I was contemplating a 255/35-19.

Please anyone else on here that has good knowledge if that size works, I think with my adjustable trailing arms I could compensate with a small tweek forward if that did not kill the geometry badly. With my 245/35-19 I now get the slightest rub on the back of the wheel well liner.

Ms4... I now run a 245/35-19 on a lowered car and I get the slighest rub when turn 3/4 lock; it rubs on the wheel well liner. The tire you are considering (245/40-19) is bigger so I would think that would be worse.

it depends on the tire itself.
an R compound tire usually runs wider than advertised.
for example a Toyo T1R (street tire) with a 235 35 19 measurement, will be SIGNIFICANTLY smaller and narrower, and have a more "concaved" sidewall profile compared to a Toyo r888 in the same size.

here is a toyo street tire

heres another one https://encrypted-tbn3.google.com/im...3rhm4F8NUnQwla

here is a toyo R compound (notice how the shape of the sidewall compared to that girly street tire

dont put a 255 30 19.
the added 10mm are negated by that extra sidewall...
a fair compromise is to run a beefy 245 35 19.

Not a direct answer to your question, but If it's for the track I'd go for some used 18" rims. You'll have wider choice of R compound rubber at a lower price.

I have not noticed any rubbing. I will say turning the wheel takes more effort than it did with the 235's, but havent encountered any other drawbacks other than the added weight.

265/35 is good with 315/30... but need 9" rim

OP- you need to tell us what rim width you have.... if you can go to 9" more choices.

And why 19" for track?!?
