997tt transmission mount question...

I just picked up the 997 transmission mount from the dealer as I figured I would change it out as preventative maintenance and due to the fact that the 997 mount is touted as an improvement. My question is, what exactly is different about this mount compared to the 996 tranny mount? I though that the 997 mount had solid rubber instead of the open spaces in the rubber portion of the mount as in the 996 unit but when I look at the 997 mount it still has the open areas in the rubber. How is this any better?

Not solid rubber but less "open area" then the 996 rubber.

I went to advanced auto and got 3m window weld and filled my 996 mounts completely. It feels great. No unwanted vibrations and shifting feels crisp.

I think these are a better solution than the 997 version.
