Wanderer is infamous around these parts
the arm on the left side of the shifter. On the stock the arm is white plastic.

I'm sending you a pm on something else.
I'm curious about the cup cables and this shifter too. How difficult are the cables to install? I haven't been able to find anything about that. And where is the best (i.e. cheapest) place to get them from?

Is it pretty much a necessity to install the AWD billet linkage too as long as you're doing all of this?

I have just received the Numeric shifter and it is a beautifully engineered unit. I am getting it installed on Tuesday and would like some feedback from any of you that have already installed one of these in your vehicle. What I am wondering is which setting to go with...it is between the middle setting, which the manufacturer recommends for all-over shifting smoothness and the shortest setting. I am leaning towards the shortest setting. I am after quick, precision, sure shifts with no confusion as to where the gate is. I would hopefully get the setting right the first time without having to partially dismantle the trim to keep changing it back and forth. I don't plan to track the car but I like to drive it agressively and I imagine with the right setting, it will help to get that adrenaline rush that I crave from my daily jaunts at however fast I feel I can get away with on my neighborhood back roads.

Try the middle position first. It's really quick on the shifts, trust me.

FYI... You can adjust the position of the handle to any of the three positions without removing your console. You only have to pull up/off your shift **** and boot to access the handle. From there, you can remove the two hex screws and adjust the handle to the three positions. However, I'd opt for the middle position to start and see how you like it. The shifts in the middle are shorter than the B&M/Porsche SSK. I haven't tried the lowest setting yet because I liked the middle a lot.

FYI...You'll need to trim some carpet away from the top of the tunnel if you want to go with the shortest setting. Otherwise the bottom of the shifter rod will drag.
I went with the middle setting and am happy.

Can I know how much you pay for the whole set up including labor and all parts.

Thank you very much!

Anyone....How does this shifter compare to the B&M in terms of shift effort and throw distance?

My B&M is hard going into 2nd gear, everything else is very smooth and very easy...

Does getting into second take more effort for others or is it just my car?

Is the Numeric "easier", i.e. less resistance due to the ball bearing design than the B&M when shifting?

Any input appreciated...

i have had this shifter and cables on my car for a while now.
its pretty much always been in the shortest settings. carpets dont have to be modified at all.

the shifter is amazing. its throw is shorter than the b&m.
the cables... well, theyre bitter sweet.
mine are coming off when tim finishes his car.
as far as the feel, the cables make a much bigger difference in the shift than the shifter.

its heavy, a good heavy. think of the cables have the same effect on your arms as the gt2 slave conversion has on your feet.. the feel is amazing. on point, very sharp , precise etc.

only one problem. my car has a lighter flywheel than OEM. the chatter is absolutely unacceptable. its BAD ! its not that little chatter that LWFW guys have when accelerating from a lower rpm.. its that.. time a hundred.

it chatters on accel, on decel. im being told that if i remove the numeric shifter, and go back to b&m it will reduce the chatter.... i dont know. i dont want to try because i like the position of my numeric shifter.

you cant have your cake and it eat it

i'll be posting my cables for sale once they come off.

i dont know how it will be on a different set up (oem flywheel, oem motormounts etc)

for anyone that has this shifter installed, im curious about the cross shifts 2-3 and 4-5

can you now push the shifter in a 45* angle and grab that next gear with your hand on top of the shifter. or is it still the same put your hand on the side of shifter move forward, right and forward again. To get that shift ?

anyone else notice the cables chattering making alot of noise like Steve mentioned above?

I had a B&M and the 2-3 shift I always would miss because there is that upwards and then deliberate to the right side movement to get into 3rd... with this I can just push forward and it slots into gear automatically. same for 4-5... just push and it goes right in.

Nah, i'll install it and then have one of my buddies align it properly. The shifter is back ordered for a week. It will prob be 2 weeks before it's actually in the car. You are welcome to check it out anytime, just let me know.
