Tranny Question...

I was driving home and heard a noise as if I hit something small on the road. I looked in the rear view mirror and nothing....so I just continued on my way.

As I pulled into my garage and was about to back up, the shifter was very stiff. I had a little trouble getting the car out of first, so I decided to inch up a bit more and that took care of it. The weird thing was that I wasnt able to get the gear into 2nd, 4th or 6th gear. Only Reverse, 1st, 3rd and 5th????

I pulled off the console and everything was in place, etc. Started the car again... started shifting to 1st, then 3rd and finally 5th and with some effort was able to get the car into 6th. After that...everything was working fine. I took it out for a quick spin and everything seems to be in working order.

Any ideas what would have caused the brief disabling of 2nd, 4th and 6th gear???? I'll probably have the dealer look at it, but just curious if anyone has ever had that problem.

FWIW, i never jam the gears or rest my hand on the shift **** while driving.

My tranny started to occasionally be very stiiff 5-6 or 6-5.
Fortunately it repro'd for the dealer. Porsche gave me a
new tranny.

Did you check the base of the tranny where the cables attach? Maybe it has slipped out.
