can you confirm this 100%
Yes, several versions of the 997 GT3 came with the Porsche 5mm spacer from the factory on the rear. I believe it was the RS.

I'll take a picture at the weekend to show how much "hub-lip" is exposed when the spacers were fitted

Seems like 9mm is too much for non-hubcentric

If it's wobbling, it's definitely not enough . Don't risk it; too nice of a car to screw up.

Don't waste your time. 7mm spacer is marginal without the hubcentric lip, 9mm will definitely not have enough of the hub poking through....
Just get a 7mm hub centric spacer with a lip and be done with it....

Second this opinion. Buy quality spacers and bolts (H&R is well respected) and they are just fine.

Spacers are used by the factory (in many, many applications) as well as RUF. That's good enough for me.

I do agree that 7mm RUF spacers are probably the best option but likely not necessary. Most likely you can put 15mm on most applications anyways and hub centric problem is solved.

If done properly there is absolutely no issue with them.

I took the wheels of again today and fitted my 15mm Cargraphic spacers (hubcentric)

No wobbles, do feedback through the steering - All is good

I put the 9mm spacer back on the hub whilst removing the wheel just to see how much lip was left on the hub (I didn't even think to check this first time around)

I'd say there was probably 1mm of lip at the very most!

Thank you everyone for saving my from what could have been a nasty ending

15mm spacers will remain in place for a little while - I'm basically trying to find out what offset to go for for my new wheels (when I eventually get round to ordering some)

What sizes? I can help give you some direction. I've really played around with this stuff a lot on the 996T and own a GT2 version as well.

Will you be rolling the rears?

Any track use or max show? serious question

Ari - my car is currently stock European spec (suspension)

Wheels are techarts
18x11 ET25
18x8.5 ET40

Tyres are MPS 235 & 315

I'm happy with the rear offsets, just trying to get the fronts to sit a little more flush

I won't be tracking the car, but it does have to be fully functional, not just for looks

The plan is to fit some KWs and play around with some spacers to get the look right, and then once I'm happy I'll order a new set of wheels in the correct specs I'm after

I've got quite a lot of info on others members wheel sizes and offsets
If you pm me your email address I'll send the info I've got over to you
