Damn...those are some short gears in 5th and 6th. Which gear is 1:1? I would think that you don't have much of an overdrive and that the car revs pretty high in 6th on the highway @ 80mph.

Low , to answer your question , between the gears , the clutch , two small boost leak repairs, 116 octane fuel and no cats , about 20% faster than when you rode it. When you are in town call me and we will go for a ride, you will be the judge.

I removed my cats a while back . . . one of the best mods I ever did . . . definite improvement in performance! This is the piece I had fabricated to replace my cat (Ruf Exhaust):

I am now considering new exhaust options. But for the excessive sound, a straight pipe would be ideal. Alternatively, I am considering an almost staight run (perhaps with a slight bend) from the turbo to the tip, with an inline muffler similar to the following:

Or

http://www.burnsstainless.com/Ultral...temuffler.html

There is no room after the cat to insert an inline muffler in a straight run to the tip. However, with the cat removed, there is plenty of room for a straight, inline muffler with 70+ mm piping connecting the turbo to the muffler to the tip. This type of set up should produce less back pressure than that generated where the exhaust runs a longer, curvy path in the typical 996TT exhaust set-up. Moreover, it should also be lighter.

Orli, the fab speed exhaust that is on your icream truck gives me a headache. That exhaust is a lot cheaper (i saw it on sale at International Trucks), but you know what they say , you get what you pay for.
