Quick question from a pcar noob. It looks like the Softronic offer is a super-set of what you can get straight from Durametric, right? Looking at the enthusiasts version, w/o round adapter, it's about the same price in the ST groupbuy compared to the DM website: $287. But with Softronic, you get additional software so that you can flash the car, too, right?

Given the damage that an unknowledgeable person (me) can do with a Flash, I probably wouldn't use that functionality, at least not initially, but it might be nice to have in a pinch.

Am I correct in my assumptions? Softronics > Durametric.

No - Although "some" Durametric cables can be used to do the Softronic Flash, you have to purchase the flash file separately - that capability does not come with the cable.

Got in on the groupbuy a few days ago. Confirmed with April from Softronic that shipping to east coast, or at least to me was $20, so for an enthusiast w/o round adapter, it ends up being $260 shipped, which is a great deal. Thanks engineguy for getting this started. Repped you. Now to figure out how to set up a small 7" tablet and hack windows on to it to make it a dedicated obd2 reading system =D

Talk to softronic and get the scoop from them. These units are programed to various different levels of useability as per what you pay for. Durametic unit alone can not be used for ECU flashs.

The price doesn't come with any flash software, just for the cable. But I have never seen a sale before on durametric cables so besides buying used I don't think you'll ever get them at a lower price unless someone does another GB. Definitely talk with Softronic. When I called to confirm payment, April had mentioned they were having a sale on the flash if you buy the cable. Forgot the price but I think it was around $1200 or so. Good deal considering I think a flash is about 1000 by itself usually with tuners.

Hello everyone, sorry if I missed a "Please PM me a PRICE" or two but I have been busy with this thing called life. Please; if you want to know do call Softronic for all your info needs 203-723-8928.
And remember "The sale ends TODAY!!!" If you call on monday it will be too late; so if you are trying to decide you might want to pick up the decision making pace.

And thanks to all that have gone ahead with the purchases; I hope the units help you all out greatly with maintaining your cars.
