P0327 - Porsche Fault Code 210 - Knock Sensor 1

Ok
I've got a set of these
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/pr...C=RV-040210605
I can grip onto the plug with them, but can't remove it because I haven't been able to unclip it
Would a set of forceps or long nose pliers do the job?

I don't think I can push something under the front of the connector to lift it up and free it, I think I need to push down on the back of it

Sensor is off the car
There's damage to the plug (in addition to what I did during removal) so I'm guessing it's due to pests

Nope, there isn't enough wire for repair
I'll either get this one stripped and extra wire fitted, or just find a new one
There's no way I want to remove another one of these things
Having finally got this one out of the car I can honestly say I don't think I'll be able to refit it with the engine in situ

That was the concern I had when mine was damaged. I was afraid I couldn't repair the plug and/or get back in there to put it all back together. I decided to save myself the headache and have my mechanic do the work. However, I know it can be done with the engine in place...I've read posts where people are successful.
Another option would be to rewire it. I believe these wires go straight to the ECU. You can make the connection there and not try to solder everything back up within the little space that you have.

If you pull on the wires and the plug is fully seated, put it back together your done.
Not sure if it's testable without being able to run the car. But if it's clipped in with good wires it'll work.

I think it's fully seated, but when I was fitting it to the sensor I pushed the clip a little too far so it (the retaining clip) is pushed up a little
I can't decide whether it's sitting high because the retaining clip is in place, but the connector itself is still too far back - or because I may have bent it upwards during fitment

Thanks guys!
I would never have tried this without the help of this forum
As silly as it sounds the sense of achievement I got from finally beating this is massive for me - Feeling quite pleased with myself right now
