can you comment on what you like about this vs the Z06? I am assuming you are into straight line stuff with each, based on mods?

To be honest the Z...especially modified...is no slouch. The fit and finish is so-so but the Z really is a pretty fine car for a gear head especially at its price point. I had one of the cleanest and most tastefully modified C6Z's in the country but for some reason I just felt the need to go another direction. I have had a nice last two weeks getting to know my GT2....some things I like...some things I dont. I plan on doing a full comparison after I get the GT2 where I want it, both power wise and mechanically and maintenance wise. Look for my thread...

Did my 1st oil change today as well as installed a new "window welded" 997 trans mount and tig'd up a cracked header weld. All went pretty smooth with the only snag being getting the oil filter cap off was a huge pain...it was torqued down to ....had to be....90ftlbs, and the fact that there was ONLY 1 CRUSH WASHER ON THE WHOLE CAR...the crank case. The oil bag, and both turbos were missing the crush washers. No worries though...I put all new crush washers on everything and torqued everything to spec. The trans is butter smooth now and the tiny crack is welded up and better than new.

What mods have you got planned?

You mentioned wheels and a wrap - what have you got in mind?

Probably look into a set of ADV1 ADV5 or a set of HRE P40s.
I really liked the look the ADV1 had on my Z but Im not sure if the look would translate to the GT2.

They are the GT30/76....they seem to be working fine. 550whp on pump.

car looks phenomenal. agree with you, p40's will look great. adv's not so much.

Love the ADV's and you should totally do them on the GT2!

BTW - what did you think of the difference of the tranny mount? Big difference? Smoother shifts?
