New RSS mounts installed

Cross posted since they work just as well on the 996TTs.

More kudos to the SharkWerks gang! I saw the updated posts here yesterday about the RSS mounts, sent Alex a quick e-mail, arrived at 9am this morning (about 15 minutes from my house), and James was done by 9:45am. As always -- Amazing service!

I haven't had a chance to really test the new mounts out -- but I like what I've seen so far....

I haven't driven on the RSS motor ounts but they look well built. I can say with my Rennline Solid's, besides their subpar hardware, they give amazing driving feel. My butt totally feels at 1 with the chassi that I can make the car dance in whichever way my butt feels like.

Since my butt is not as good as your butt , I couldn't go with the solid mounts. I believe the RSS mounts are comparable to the the Wevo semi-solid mounts.

Id love some feedback. Are you worried about the knock sensor issues with these? I have always done motor and trans mounts in my performance cars...I like how they feel. I am installing a new 997 trans mount this week with Window Weld mod and will be looking for a set of NONsolid motor mounts soon.

I'm sure it will help your track days Eugene. SharkWerks is amazing when it comes to service and quality.

I'm wondering why I don't see Alex in the pictures... oh he's hidding in the office and watching Euro2012...

I didn't notice much noise difference. Eugene, said he didn't feel any difference with semi-solid wevo, so that gave me the green light to go solids. Love them. (minus the hardware, you can get better hardware from home depot which I explained to Rennline)

I just put a set on last night also... They are very nicely made.. Seems better than the stock ones. I am going to an autocross tomorrow and will chime back in.

Very nice ... Ran today in an autocross at the tire rack. Definitley can feel less engine movement going on. With the stock ones I could move the engine by hand about half an inch. I can't do that any more . I just went out the garage and tried and I can't move the engine by hand any more. I would say much better over stock. I did not feel any secondary effects in hard tight turns from engine movement that I use to. Would defiantly recommend . They are very nice looking also. I could not feel any noticable difference in engine vibration.

Glad you guys are liking these... I have to say with age the slop from those stock mounts isn't getting any better and at least with these semi-solids there really isn't much if any difference in terms of noise inside the cabin

I installed these on my 996tt about 1 - 1 1/2 months ago and love them. The car feels tighter, no issues what-so-ever with the knock sensor, and there is no play in the drive train like there was before. Highly recommend these things. Kudos to Sharkwerks!

I'm jealous, you turbo guys can just run a jack under and fit, on the GT3 I had to jack up each side and put it on axle stands to get the jack under the engine and that's with a low profile 'race' jack!

Love my RSS mounts, big improvement in cornering feel due to quicker set not being disturbed by the engine moving. No evidence of engine pulling timing or increase noise or vibration. A must do mod!

Next is the poly bush gear box mount and GT2 cables. Gear change from second to 3rd when hard on it is already improved. Would occasionally bulk when changing up at 8400rpm especially cornering hard.

Cheers
Jay
