Brake Vibration

Hi All,

Enjoying the new to me 2005 car much and have a question. Under light braking I am getting some vibration/feedback through the steering wheel, stops straight, no pulling, but some vibration like a warped rotor. Under hard braking there is none. Is this normal?

The PPI from Porsche dealer was clean.

Vehicle only has 12,000 miles on it, no PCCB.

Thanks!

Do you know the procedure for bedding in your brakes. Give that a try in a fairly aggressive manner then use a real good cool down before parking. When the brakes are cool they should be better. If not therte are other things you can try too.

Sounds like brake judder, uneven pad deposits on the rotor. Follow the brake bedding technique given, that should clear it up. If not, you have some other issue. Warping of the rotors is not a usual Porsche problem.

Well after trying to rebed with no success took the car in and the rotors are toast due to prior owner. Car got 900 miles in 2 years put on it and the washing and right back into the garage created rust that over time killed the rotors, bummer.

Well new brakes go on the car today and a UMW tune installs tonight. Cannot wait to drive the car with the new tune and no vibration when braking....

Too bad about the rusted disc issue.

I have seen that on several other cars over the years. It is not as common in warmer drier climates.
Park a car with wet brakes over and over again and never use them hard to clan up the disc's and the water stays inbetween the pads and disc and rots the disc away.

Glad you got the issue sorted and you are liking your newly tuned car.

Socal is pretty warm and dry (unless you live *right* at the beach) but 900mi in 2 years is insanely low! I don't get why people buy a car like that and never drive it?!
