Extrude Hone

Extrude Hone
If I can get the attachment to work, there should be a picture with this post. It is of my "Y" pipe after the ID polish by Extrude Hone. My next step with this will be to take it to Vacuum Metal Coatings LLC to have the exterior coated. The exterior is just to make it look pretty. I think I will have it done in silver.
My headers by now have also been extrude honed and are at HPC coatings in Oklahoma (my ancestors came from there). I am having it black coated with the 2500 degree coating.
The headers are the stock units that have been ported, and now polished via extrude hone.
A question, should I wrap the headers as well?

hey garey, can you tell me roughly how much the port and extrude hone cost, and where you had it done, i am consider this upgrade on a stock set of headers i have lying around, you can pm me the info, thanks for your time!

The port was done on a set of headers that someone else had, I purchased them 2nd hand.
The extrude hone cost about $500 per piece so about $1 Kilo for both the Y pipe and the headers altogether.

I have had excellent results extrude-honing intake manifolds
to flow better with larger motors than they were designed for.

I'm very suprised this hasn't been done on this board before.
I have a set of OEM headers sitting on the shelf I'm contemplating tuning up. Extrude honing. Porting as outline by KEVIN. Ceramic coating.
Are the OEM headers tough enough to handle wrapping also?

Parts are now installed
Thanks to Lucent automotive (103F in LA!) the following parts are now installed:
1. Extrude honed and ceramic coated headers.
2. Extrude honed and coated "Y" pipe.
3. GT-2 Intercoolers.
4. EVO Intake.
I will try to attach a couple of photo's of the various items.
First impressions are a quicker spool, the power comes on nearly simultaneously with a throttle push. The power also seems to come on a bit harder. The exhaust note seem quieter? This is strange as I am running the Europipe Stage 2 quiet and may it is a first impression subject to later change.
