Mine dont ever get scared because as soon as I floor it, they nail the back of their head on the rollbar They are too focused on the throbbing pain to worry about my driving.

reminder - get rollbar padding one of these days

Eric. Double clutching is something I still do on a 3rd to 2nd downshift sometimes. It works very fast. It will extend the life of the 2nd gear syncro if you continually downshift when you slow down or into a corner. I use to do it on my MGB. Second gear syncro was not the best. Comes very naturally. Take it out of third, let the clutch up and match revs, put the clutch back in and slip it into second, equalize the gas and let clutch out. Very fast way of shifting if done properly. Practice makes perfect.

i almost never speed or drive "dangerously" when theres a passenger in the car. if im gonna speed i should only kill myself and not an innocent passenger.

that said i often scare my gf ****less.

Equalize before putting it into second no? The whole point of blipping is to match the speed of the flywheel with the engine.

If the flywheel isn't matching perfectly the sped of the engine at all times, you have a serious problem.

Grasshopper,

Double Clutching is used to match the internals of the transmission with the speed of the engine to minimalize the diffusion of friction between the syncros, the clutch, and the tires. Think of it this way. If you are traveling at 100 mph and decide to put your car into first gear, now your flywheel is turning at an incredible rotational velocity equal to probably 18,000 rpms or so. Hence, if you were to release the clutch, you would over rev. Double clutching is the a similar concept. You bring the speed of those internals up to the speed of the engine buy accelerating the flywheel while the transmission is disengaged. Thus, when you go to put it into the below gear, the syncro hardly needs to do its job and everythings very smooth. Is this just making sense to me?

My best was when my mom was in shotgun, this was right after I chipped my car and I took her for a spin, it was at night, semi-foggy and on a downhill road. I gunned it through several gears while she held onto the handle bar things. She was pretty freaked out after the little run and she started having like an anxiety attack and was demanding that I open the windows, hah, "I was like mom, chill out you're fine, there's plenty of air in here." I hooked her up with some fresh air anyways and drove her back home slowly, it was pretty funny though. Ever since then, whenever she's in my car she's always holding onto the door handle bar, even if we're going like 40mph. She now knows the wrath of the turbo, ha.

Friend of mine who is into Exotic cars, use to sell them has driven most of them. Took him for a ride in the Stage 5 after I got it and he was scared silly. He said that is the fastest car I have ever been in.

And yes I hate riding as a passengar because you have no control, very scary!

Alex came over to the house a few weeks ago and brought his car. I'd never ridden in the Sharkey Mobile.

He goes to the end of my road and MASHES the gas pedal. I literally felt the liquid in my eyeballs go to the back of my head. I think the hair on my face went back into the pores as well.

I've never experienced anything like that in my life.

I can't wait to get a 997TT Stage 4GT

lol ... very unique and vivid description

I usually don't drive crazy when I have passengers but 2 rides come to mind ... my brother-in-law said he was seconds away from puking (this on a freeway onramp, only up to 100 or so cuz traffic) ... but best(worst?) was a relative of mine who has been a little jumpy ever since a f'ing terrorist attack she was hurt in ... and she had a panic attack

I almost scared a few of my friends...I swear!!!

Unfortunately they thought I had meant to do a 60mph drift

A ricer guy pulled out slow infront of me to **** me off when I was going 50 so I went into the median and punched it to pass him. After turning right then left into the lane again I had accidently done a "feint motion" drift which I had under control but I didnt mean to do it.

Im just glad that I dont take risks when theres no room for error, I hope people dont drive like that on 2 lane roads. I probably shouldnt have done that to begin with anyhow...
