Fuel injectors

Got my 2150cc Fuel Injector Clinic injectors today and got right to work on fitting them. I was using full height RC injectors and need more fuel then those could supply so I went in search of injectors. After all my homework was done I end up with these. I had to machine the brackets that hold the rails I made some years ago but all in all easy fitment. Just a note, Fuel Injector Clinic has direct drop in injectors for the 996/7's they have a 900cc and a 1100cc high impedance injector that flows 1128cc@3bar or 1268@3.8bar. Both injectors I feel are great choices for the 996 platform. BTW I had to get the 1100cc ones to check them out for myself.

Tim can probably answer better than me but, it depends on your hp goal. A general rule(and i may be a touch off) is that you will use 20-30% more E85 than gas so, you just need to do the math.

So, run stockish fuel pressure and you have enough fuel for an easy 1600hp. You could always run 80-90psi which gives you enough fuel for twin gtx40's..

Maybe you should turn up the stakes and run two rails with a second stage for your 1100cc injectors?

Just saying...

my 2150cc injectors are at 50% duty cycle at 800rwhp on E85. I think the twin 044 setup will run out before the injectors do.... even on E85.

That is possible, these big injectors move volumes of fuel. It is not about pressures rather than volume. Larger lines and multiple pumps are needed when you put up big numbers. I've also seen lean conditions from crappy rail diameters and no or poor dampening.

You have the best fuel setup i have seen to date. I think you did this already but, watch the wiring on these pumps. Stock wiring is not up to the task. It is ok to turn on a relay but not as main power feeds to the actual pumps.

how would you comapare your fuel system ,to the proto style where they use one big internal pump?

i dont know much about it, but the one your using seems pretty well thought out and obviously works.

That is exactly what I did. I used the stock fuel pump power line to energize three relays one for each pump.

I have large 3/4 fuel rails and a -12 line from the pump to a wye block right at the back of the motor where it splits to two -10 lines. I am using one large weldon pump.

I thought proto uses two O44 in tank or the highly regarded (not by me) O44 in line pump?

On the high HP cars, Protomotive uses three fuel pumps unless the buyer chooses another option.
