Vp c85 is a way for vp to rape people for money on e85! I'm pretty sure that with regular e85 you will reach the max timing you can apply before cylander pressure is your enemy not detanation. Did tests before on e85 vs vp import. I believe Awd mike can confirm doing tests also and made more power on e85 than any of the race fuels. You would be better off running e98 at 300$ shipped for a 55gallon drum.

best bang for the buck 10 gallons E85 to 1 gallons C16 i would never run E85 by itself. i know people running it on RB26 40psi timing retarded have no problems others running it on an EVO blow up all the time. yes you have E98 and better what i'm talking about everyday use and i trust this mix i use to use it. 1000hp works great.

The C85 is only 90 motor octane so i would think you need to mix a little, i may be wrong.

C85 has a lot of oxygen i'm talking about everday use. for a streetcar wouldn't be cost effective as a race car maybe but i'll only use my fuel thanks ;-]

Eddie, good luck, stay safe and thanks for representing the P-brand so well.

Also, good info on E85 in this thread.

Off Topic: One question on E85. If you are tuned just for E85, and you add C16 or unleaded equivalent(VP110 or so), is that better(safer) than just running E85?

safer absolutely it will run a tad richer nothing to worry about, the only drawback is the lead takes away some O2 sensor life. not as bad as running straight C16 fuel try it, won't hurt you can run more boost, ignition timing

I would have to disagree with you on evo's blowing up all the time because of running e85. I would like to see some examples please. I know off at least 200+ cars that have been running pump e85 and no problems. I ran 46-50psi myself on e85 and no problems.

you're right but the EVO in florida making clothes to 980hp we're breaking. they all running E98 now making 1000 to 1100hp and not breaking. because of the timing i run i can use E85 I would have to detune my car and lose 300hp to make it work. I run it time to time to putt around town

That was my point to the majority of the people that aren't on full kill mode tunes. If your trying to set records e98 best bang for the buck and undisputed results and 300$ for a 55gallon drum. Your every day person looking to run a race gas tune would be perfectly fine on e85 pump fuel.

so you are saying you would lose 300hp if you were to NOT mix in 1gal of C16 into your E85?? I don't see how that is even remotely possible from a 1:10 additive. i think Powells car picked up 80whp or so from going E85 to C16 or C23 (i cant remember).

I'm not trying to get into a Debate about E85 a race in FL I had a guy in a 996 come up to me ask me what type of fuel am i'm running i told him E85 mix, he said i running E85 my car is knocking can't turn up the boost i always get the gas from the same station. i told him E85 can be E70 E68 you never know what you're buying unless you buy a $500.ethanol meter and then what reprogram the car at the track. i told him put some race gas in the tank it's fixed it. yabba dabba doo LOL

15$tester and works great. over 900+hp on 4cyl 2.0l single t3 turbo. Engine was built in 2008 and I sold the long lock do to building a 12:5.1 aluminum long rod especially for e85. But that engine still today is breathing in another evo tuned on e85 making 700hp.
