Bill: He did well, everything was alright and he recovered well, thanks for the prayers My mom was so happy and she even cried when she heard that. You guys are truly amazing people
deputydog: even if my dad gives me a camry, I would still appreciate it like a Porsche, whatever my dad gives me, I still appreciate it, okay, here is how I got my Cayenne S. I was still in my high school and I received a phone call from my mom, she is very traditional and she thinks that all Porsches are fast although this one is not so she yelled at me, she said to me not to drive fast and I DID NOT even know what I got. My brother likes cars and he tried to get me a E55 but my dad was mean to me and was going to give me a C class or 3 series. Did I ask for a Cayenne? NO, do I want it? hell yes, but I felt embarassed to ask my dad to buy me a Porsche. Just to let you know that my dad loves all the kids and we have our own right to have what you call "luxury cars for spoilt kids". I got my first car a M3 at 12 years old, G500 at 15. So don't be jealous, this is how my dad, jamy's dad and Bill's dad treat us, and we are not spoilt. I used my own pocket money to buy all the mods, I worked for it and I deserve it. You can always ask Arling because I get all the stuff from him and he knows how hard I worked for it. One more thing, my dad did not intentionally try to get me a Cayenne S, he needed a car and my 540i was broken all the time.
There is no intention to make you mad, I just want to clarify this, I hope you understand that.

All of my "me" picks were cars and usually Porsches. First a new 924, then a new 944, next a used 911 SC, then a used 993, then a used 996 - finally, we had the house, boats, jewelry to choke a cow, college funds, etc and my wife told me when I suggested a bigger house that maybe it was time for me to pick another one for me. A big one.
I grabbed the Autoweek and went staight to the want ads - there it was "Seal Grey X50" - new - mine, mine, mine. It was a Beverly Hills Porsche. I asked my son if he wanted to go for a ride, grabbed a blank check, and launched out of the driveway. I can still remember every car on the lot and how the TT was parked in the showroom. I paid cash and it is the best i"carrot" I have ever had. I can remember thinking that there must be some sort of breakin period and I hit WOT at every stop light between the dealership and HWY 405. I can remember thinking that the CHP look for cars like this as I discovered that .9 was all I was going to see on the boost without mods (if I only knew). A day doesn't go by that the car doesn't generate that same excitment.
I find joy in everything I do - but driving that car reminds me why I have been driven to the top of my game. It keeps me sane. And no matter how dark, cold, dreary it is - slam the gas to the floor and every little piece of cr*p I've had to deal with disappears. All the money in the bank, the big house, etc - all the material things are that - but the car..... It is about living.
Going for a ride...............

I'm not mad nor jealous. I actually feel a little sad for you guys. Your sense of reality is a little warped. You guys are "spoiled rotten" whether you choose to accept it or not. I'd rather hear you say something like "yeah, my parents spoil the **** out of me and i'm lovin' it" as opposed to the nonsense your spewing.
I wouldn't have even started this, but I couldn't resist that riddiculous post by TTgansta and your replies. You guys ask for this **** when people starting posting stuff "i was really depressed when my dad didn't buy me a twin turbo and then I begged him for it". Begging only applies to food and forgiveness. Not a six figure car.
As for you buying your own mods, I'm calling bull**** on that. I know what this stuff costs. Unless you count the trust fund allowance your probably getting every month, i seriously doubt a college kid in boston makes enough money to cover rent, tuition, books, food, spending money, and probably $20K in mods for that car. I worked as a college kid in boston. Unless things have changed terribly, i could barely afford gas in my honda civic. I'm not saying you didn't pay for it, I'm just saying your parents gave you the money. Just curious why would you have an M3 at 12? What's the point?
Hey, I come to boston pretty often. When you guys are old enough, we'll all go out for a beer. My treat. I know you're saving your pocket money for mods

Here's mine ... I get a call from the salesman who tells me that my car is in but there is a problem. Although I ordered deviated stitching and the window sticker clearly stated deviated stitching the car had no deviated stitching. The salesman told me I did not have to accept the car as it was not exactly what I had ordered and they would be willing to order another car. Or I could take this car and they would deduct the cost of the stitching. Initially I was pissed. I headed out to the dealership with every intention of cancelling it and buying a Gallardo. After seeing the car I started thinking that maybe the deviated stitching would be a bit too much anyway. After all the car is yellow and the carbon fiber dressed up the interior quite well. I asked for the keys and told the salesman that I wanted to drive it home and back to see if I wanted it. I did and it took about 1 block for me to decide the deviated stitching was not worth the hassle.
deputydog, I agree with you 100% my brutha.

Nah, I don't save my pocket money that bad, I still go shopping, I still drink beer, party all the time and eat whatever I want.
Lets stop this, I don't want to hijack Buddy's thread....

Most kids parents do not buy them a new M3 for their 1st car.... if they buy them a NEW car at all... You are lucky and yes you are spoiled... You may handle it well and not be a pompous ***, but spoiled... You bet....
The "Dog" just like to stir the pot once in a while… Car to speak about suspensions for the street Dog?

I'll add this. My oldest daughter will be 17 this year and I will buy her a car. One of the reasons I have busted my *** is to be able to provide for my children the things I could not have when I was a young one. Could I buy her something really expensive? Sure. Will I ... no friggen way. She would not even think to ask. She gets a Jeep Wrangler ... I think even that is a bit much but what the hell, she's a good kid and I love those Jeeps.
It is a tough call as a parent. You want the best for your children but you also want them to learn and truly appreciate what they have. I also think that a high performance vehicle in the hands of a kid who has less time on the roads than I have on the crapper is a huge mistake. You can't buy experience and that is the main thing these young guns lack.
For you young guns ... it's not jelousy that people are feeling here. It's concern.

It's a looong story but I was able to avoid a major problem on that one. You can take the boy out of the country but not the stupidity.....

Well if nothing else giving us fast cars at a young age gives us more experiance, and when we are your age we will have the potential to be much better drivers.
I don't see how it is anyone's place on this forum to tell people they have never met how much they appreciate their gifts. If I didn't appreciate the car I would drive it every day not once in a while on a sunny day, that's why the car has 3500 miles on it after 3 years. I wash the thing every time it gets driven, does that really seem like the behavior of someone who doesn't appreciate their things. Do I deserve the car no but I'm gonna enjoy it as much as I can.
I am spoiled I have been informed by hundreds of people as to that fact, but I decided a while ago to stop feeling bad about it because anybody would take a Porsche Turbo at 17. You could ask anyone I have met face to face on this board and they will agree I am spoiled, but they obviously like me to some extent because people like Erik and Herhsel took me in to help me with a project for school and i doubt they would do that if i was some arrogant spoiled ***** like you guys are making me out to be. You guys are all judging us by how much money we have and acting like your better then us because we are spoiled. Are you too good for those who are less fortunate than you too.
This is a Porsche forum and everyone acts like they are suprised that there are spoiled kids on it, i don't get this. How about we talk about cars instead of how bad I am because my dad spoiles me, maybe you can go to a forum that has an ANTI-RICH kid focus.
BTW BuddyG are you going to Indi this weekend for US Grand Prix?
