We should start a separate thread on import junk, and not just car parts. Aside from that and I have no dog in this fight (other than going out of my way and willing to pay more for USA stuff), isn't there some patent infringement? If all the claims are real, then it could be the case unless there aren't any patents which would be a shame. Just saying...

I have no interest in getting involved a war of words with anyone in this thread, but I would like to state a couple things for the record.

We do plenty of reciprocal business with EVOMS, Sharkwerks, Fabspeed, TechArt, ESMotor, and many other 6Speed vendors. They buy our products, we buy theirs, we're friends, and we respect each other. I actually consider many of them to be good personal friends because of the relationships we've built dealing with each other on a business level!

Over a year ago, we made the decision to cease all business relations with Vivid Racing mostly due to reasons stated previously in this thread, and also due to repeatedly ignoring our requests to adhere to our retail pricing structure. For us, the integrity of our products is worth more then a few extra sales per month.

Dan, maybe it's just an oversight, but our letter did request that you remove our logos and branding from your website and all other media. Kindly remove the Champion Motorsport and Tubi Style logos from your signature here on 6Speed.

wow bandwagoner... That was over a year go. Was done and we dont list anything of your product. Cute response though. Very typical of you and that group (less Fabspeed). Please dont say anything if you dont know facts besides your bosses business. None of you will call to discuss as all you can do is type lies and start rumors. Then your followers jump in and add there 2cents. We proved already above that all of that is BS. But none of you bothered to look at the tracking. So keep riding those wooden wheels.

The fact is you think you can control an entire market and you are the only ones, guess what, look at the banners on the right. How many new vendors are there. We have been here since 2006 and have constantly done our part, proven ourselves, and gained customers who thoroughly enjoy our support. You will never like us, you will never want to do anything with us because that is your mentality.

Make this 50 pages, keep posting. All your doing is drawing more attention. If you have anything to say, sac up, make a call.

Bring up whatever you want. Cause (1) you did not work there at that time, (2) you are exaggerating. I have every purchase order and invoice. The "wholesale" is in regards to a Tubi exhaust for an Audi R8 of a return customer. But hey, the bigger you make it, the more you try to make someone else look bad. All good.

BTW - www.agency-power.com. Over 200 products across the entire range of bolt ons for many different vehicles. Most made here in AZ, some made in TW, some made in California.

 

1. I did work here at the time. I'm the one who personally drafted the many letters we've sent to you.

2. I'm not exaggerating. I have personally called and spoken to you and your salesman pretending to be a customer and was quoted wholesale level pricing on our products. And that's only the times where every attempt wasn't made to bait me into a AP product instead. One salesman even said "you don't want the Italian junk...our AP exhausts are much less expensive and better quality."

Just look at the current thread you have going for KW V3 coilovers. "Lowest price GUARANTEED"...is what it says. So tell me Dan...what prices have you sold those coilovers at?? Coilovers that have a $3600 suggested retail price. Come on, tell us what you sell them for....because I already know. Tell KW that's why we won't sell their product anymore.

And it has nothing to do with "making it big". It's about business ETHICS! You don't think that with the facilities we have at our disposal we couldn't also copy EVOMS' GT2 conversion, or any of Sharky's exhausts, or any other part we wanted? Damn right we could...if we wanted to. But we don't. I buy them from them regularly. They give me a discount, I SELL AT RETAIL PRICE, and we both make some money. That's how business works.

If you can't see how your business model hurts our industry as a whole, then unfortunately we're all at a loss.

Thats all a blatant lie. We have not sold Tubi/Champion in probably 2 years. Nobody here would say that period and there is no record of it.

KW - we are one of their preferred Porsche partners. They have a MAP price which we are in accordance to on our site. We are not the issue, the issue is other vendors I will not name. But I pretty much give the same price each time. You not selling KW has nothing to do with me.

We have the facilities as well. Once again, you read nothing above that shows our products, where they are made, looked at our facility, etc. Pretty awesome little group you have, all good with me. Since you are an employee, that is what you are suppose to do. Sell parts, make money.

My business model does not hurt this industry, my business has done alot in this industry since 2001 and has achieved alot more then you think. There are several companies even ones who post on this site that do real damage. You have nothing else going on today, I understand. I am ok with that. Happy Friday!

 

Wow, this is some thread!

With that said, these kinds of threads invariably elicit comments from people who are not directly involved or affected by what is going on and just want to spout an opinion or fuel the flames.

I'm not in the car parts business. I'm in the car enjoying business. I brought my 997.1 to Dan's shop myself, to have it used as a template / donor vehicle to design a turbo kit for naturally aspirated 997.1 cars (C2, C2s, C4, C4S).

I have visited the shop and seen the work that was done. I watched the entire kit being built and fitted from scratch (including the carbon fiber pipes and the intercooler cover and even the intercooler itself.

Everything between the engine and the exhaust tips was replaced (mostly by parts made in house) as part of this kit and my car has been running like a screaming banshee ever since (just over a year now).

I have also taken the car to a respected specialist in top shelf modified cars in California and he agreed that this was a well-designed and fun kit.
So, as a customer and having seen the shop and witnessed the work, I am happy with the quality and with the service and support provided by Dan and by Vivid.

Just wanted to offer a bit of a counterbalance to this pissing contest

 

For the record, the business was called Rennsport One, and I was not the owner, just an employee. It was actually quite a successful business during it's 4 year lifespan. However, the fate of that company had nothing at all to do with me...I only worked there. Sometimes people move on to bigger and better things.

I'm still waiting to hear what you're selling KW V3's for. NOT what you advertise them for but what you're actually selling them for. Because I've called and got pricing on those too. If it's the price on your website then how come people have to PM you for a price? Why not refer them to your site? Come on man...really?

Again, we can go on and on, back and forth, but I've got better things to do at 6pm on a Friday. Just take our logos out of your signature and I'll stop posting here, simple as that.

I have never had trouble with dan who has provided excellent products and support but for the sake of the community it may be better to air your dirty laundry offline imho.

 

Iv'e been taking my car to Vivid for over 3 years my car had 12,000. I can vouch for his guys who fabricate parts in Gilbert, AZ I have personally spent probably 15 hours+ watching his fabricators & mechanics work on my car(Yes I am that annoying customer who watches & ask questions constantly) My car currently has 30,000 miles 3 years later I have a few AP parts (exhaust,F-hoses,plenum, diverter valves) in which I am very pleased with performance, build quality, and fit as every part he has put on my car was on the dyno after in front of me, no butt dyno lol. Dan has installed a few one off parts (R&D) in my car and never had any problems still running strong pulls like a freight train!

I drive 40 miles past a few shops on this forum just to go to Vivid because of the customer service and his mechanic Ryan. Dan has always stood behind his products and the fact is anyone who answers email's & calls like Dan will continue to get my biz.

 

FWIW, the hose you are referencing above is an OEM hose. so then its an "el-cheapo" part with a porsche part number that is purchased from porsche.

The point is that the general concept that we came up with back in 2006 that we spent a ton of time & money designing, changing, testing, manufacturing, supporting, etc has been ripped off by someone who has a long track record of doing this. That is the bottom line. There are 100 different ways to design the bracket, it is the details about distance from the TO fork, spacing, throw length, proper parts OEM parts to work with the overall comcept. Dan do you even know what a 993 is? For someone to just make the bracket look different doesnt make the overall concept and kit different ecxept it is a copy and not a good one at that. I am not going to deal with this anymore. I cant wait to see Dan in public somewhere and look him eye to eye. I bet you cant look me square in the eyes like a man. Can you Dan? I bet you hope this never happens. Huh? I bet you cant even look yourself in the eyes when you stare in a mirror! What goes around comes around.

I don't really care for knock off parts, but I have to say I see nothing wrong with Vivid Racing selling brand name parts at a discount. If VR can sustain their business by selling us KW parts at a discount, then good for them. Price fixing doesn't help the consumer. Sure, it pads the retailer's pocket, but sometimes, you have to give up some to make some. I may not like VR's Agency Power products, but at least I know who to check with if I am in the market for other brand name parts.
