I am not sure why you think the values will go up, maybe down the road a ways, but not any time soon. The prices of the 997tt are coming down and that is just going to push the prices of the 996tt down even farther. The 993's are going up because they are the last of an era.
it's just a numbers thing. Values will eventually begin to go up. The 996 is the first of an era and the only one with a different headlight system. It will definitely increase.

Exactly, so in the future the most collectible 911's will probably be all the GT1 engined cars. Basically from 2000-2011 and only about 20,000 total cars for 996/997 Turbo/GT2/GT3's between 2000-2012.
Compared to 175,262 standard 996's made and by 2007, the 997's had reached 100,000 units, a record.
