10" Wheels on the Rear?

I'm looking into a set of OZ wheels for HPDE. For the rear, it's either 18X10 or 18X12. The benefit of the 10" wheels is much better tire selection (OEM tire size). Is there a negative to going 1" narrower (OEM is 18X11) on the wheel, but keeping the same tire size (295/30)?

Would it be better to go with 12" wheels and live with the limited choices?

Any thoughts or experiences appreciated.

The only thing that might guide me ( you have
more experience with tracking etc ) if I were deciding that would simply be that we know that 11's and 12's are the "best" for the rear. I run a 12 and though it may be coincidental, this is my first Pcar that hasn't swung *** end out on me. I wouldn't want to try a narrower rear for love or money. Though I think some folks have run 10 on front! I'm at 9. That's wide enough.

With all the weight skewed toward the rear end of the car, downsizing the width of the rear rim/tire is foolish. Get the 12.
