^^ Yup that's what I experience. It's only actually ever died twice in my ownership. Normally the ECU catches it.

doesn't feel "normal" to me. my last tt never did this. same exact symptoms here. does not stall, and then after "hunting" up/down, my idle settles right at 750-800 where it belongs. a new maf seems to eliminate the issue. then it comes back once i've pegged the rev limiter and blown(?) the maf ( just my experience, may or not be the cause ). annoying. high operating ( ambient i should say ) temps exacerbate the issue.

I agree with several posts...If you are luck it's 1 or 2.
1)MAF
2)Throttle body
3)Cam sensor (rare)
4)More diagnosing

My issue was when coming to a stop the idle would drop and car would shut off but would start right back up. It was caused by 3 or 4 small leaks which the smoke/boost leak test revealed.
I had changed my alternator, battery, fuel pump, pump relay, hitachi maf etc and all it was was a few small leaks.

Good luck as we all hate to go through this!!

that one IS normal. we all have that one.. it's crazy, like the cars gonna stall for a sec, then it's back up to higher rpm cold idle. per tim941nyc in that other thread..

Its the oil pressure advancing the cams, then the cams re sync hence the hick up same at around 3k cruising. Almost a dead miss.

what i did NOT know.. if true.. was that the ( occasional) hiccup at 3k ( not as noticeable as the cold startup hiccup ) was also related(?) to the oil pressure/cam deal. every time i switch a maf though. the 2800-3k rough spot goes away. i'm not so sure the 3k rough spot is as common, but i defer to anyone that knows one way or another.
