Dr T, You may want to seal the detail job with some of the Meguires Engine Kote. It will seal up all the alloy and keep a nice fresh finish on the metal work and help with minimizing the oxidation. I just check out my detail job this weekend and still looks fresh.

I had some Griot's Engine Gloss that I tried...hopefully it will work as well.
