Bosch 044 fuel pump questions
Is this pump a direct fit into a 2002 996TT fuel assembly? Any modifications necessary to fit? Is this a better choice than a GT2 fuel pump and assembly? Can it be used by itself without a back up pump? Anybody know the different outputs of the stock turbo pump, the GT2 pump, and the 044 pump? Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen them used as in line; not sure if they drop in the tank…
911Tuning has a kit where it comes with fittings and line, etc.
He probably would be the one to talk to. Im sure he will steer you in the right way.

No.
You have to open the plastic sump, remove old pump and slightly modify sump's inside to make it fit. Nothing drastic...if you're not technically challenged you've done it during a saturday afternoon.
It might be a good idea in the same time change OEM assy's weak link, ie. pressure hose prone to bursting.
IMO yes. AFAIK GT2's pump itself is the same than turbo's, just the sump etc is different because of different fuel tank. GT2 and GT3 pump assy's carry the same part#...
(OTH I might be wrong here, wouldn't be the first time.)
Yes.

I found a pump at SEMA that flows more than the 044 and also has a scavenge tank. I will post the details soon. I have to go through all the cards I picked up to find it
It is supposed to run cooler than the 044 as well and is smaller in size.

One 044 that does not have to power the porsche in tank Jet pumps will easily push enough fuel for over 700 Hp with 72lb injectors. I would not want a 5 bar FPR unless really needed.
I feel the best way to go about it is to ditch the sock in tank set up for a single inline 044. It is fed by two bulkhead fittings right from each sump of the tank. -10 feed from each sump Y's into one line to a -12 filter then to the pump then to the cars rails with a -6 after the pump.
If you want to know how to go about setting this all up contact me via PM.

good thread!
Would love to see a solution with a single in-tank that helps to get fuel for roughly 650 whp.
what about that jet pumps? any idea to find a solution that do not drain power from that pump too much? are jet pumps and catch tank differ greatly from TT and GT2?

Why in tank. Like I said you drill a hole into each leg with a bulkhead fitting; go with a 2 into one Y to feed the pump with a coarse pre filter. The pump in mounted in the driveshaft tunnel. Because it does not feed the in tank jet pumps it is good for over 700hp. But the biggest issue with this system is a 044 is a noisey pump.

in tank? because of the noise! and least mounting effort and close to OEM solution?
but may be I did not understand you completely? any pictures would be very nice for me.
I think thread start landjet was aiming his questions in the same direction as me...
