The Akrapovic system, although expensive, is pretty damn nice! No discernible drone.....

Cheers,

i have the gmg w/c sport exhaust. full 3" with 200 cell cats and 4" tips. car droned so bad at 2900 rpm in 6 i couldnt stand it. had a shop weld me a 90* elbow from 3" to the size to fit the oem tips. this replaced the 45* end section with the tips. may have lost a little power but the drone is completely gone. car is a joy to drive and i didnt feel much if any power loss

I went with a Speedtech 2.5" X-pipe with 100 cell cats and have no drone with it. Sounds great, especially during a cold start.

Mine is custom. Full 3" everywhere, 100 cell cats and race mufflers. X design. The cold start is embarrassing. Drones some but not too bad. If you don't like drone, keep your engine speed out of the drone range

Anyone with a Remus exhaust by any chance? I heard it once on a TT and it sounded great; was only a short drive though.

the best advice i could give anyone is, buy a good exhaust.. i bought a (name not mentioned) exhaust and bought a BBI after i knew the difference.... 911 tuning looks like a good one for the money.... its a porsche, not a honda.. lol just sharing my journey.... when it comes to an exhaust, you get what you pay for... good luck..

I'm contemplating an upgrade but I really have to narrow it down first and then manage to find someone local so I can hear it in person; sound clips just don't do it for me.

Highly recommend Switzer. Have had mine for a few months and love it. It has a deeper sound, closer to N/A engine. But between 2,600-3,000 it is almost stock.

Hmm. I have the AWE as well, I get drone from 2k to 3k when I'm on the throttle. It disappears completely once I cross 3k. Do you have the new style with the single canister or the old style with 2?

My 996TT is 3" X-flow NO cats and cold start is very rowdy.

I have the old style (2 cans). It's a bit louder between 2k and 3k but it doesn't drone. My car is otherwise stock; that may make a difference as well.
