Didn't Stephen Kaspar publish dynos using various exhausts for the 996TT, and the Ruf came in last with the greatest backpressure, and lowest HP/TQ dyno?

This is what Steph of Europipe said of the Stephen Kaspar Auto Imagine test regarding the RUF exhaust:

"I denied that old comparisation test. The Ruf is a nice exhaust that will produce good hp / tq gains. The one in that dyno test probably had wheelspin hence the power loss."

The Ruff unit was never a big HP system for other tuners also , even back in the day from what I understand..

Likewise...hint of drone with tiptronic but very manageable. Cold start is loud.

I built my own with no drone. I cleared the CEL and it hasn't returned.

Millze is infamous around these parts
Gemballa/Remus exhaust is worth checking out also, I've had it a few months and love it! No drone at all

I have the PBK exhaust which is based on the stock unit. Just the right sound for my daily driver use and no drone. Cost effective as well.
