I believe you are right. The pulley is squeaky. When I had the airbox off, I sprayed it with some lubricant and it quieted down. However, the squeak is back and so is that horrible noise.

I'm ordering one on Monday. Does $250 sound right on this part? Is there a more reasonable option?

Thanks,
WiscoBandit

Very nice looking car you are bringing to this board.

Glad you got the noise sorted and the overboost issue.

It was a Sirius satellite receiver. Removing it was my first work on the car.

So far they've been decent at Law Auto Group.

I think I paid around $150 for the pulley but that was a couple of years ago.

Howling fix?

I have a similar howling from my '01 Turbo. Did you get to the bottom of it and find the fix? The howling from the engine bay or rear of the car comes on when accelerating hard at 3500rpm then goes away as the revs continue to climb. The howl is intermittent. thanks kenny
