Let me start by saying I didn't mean the turbo intake pipes are worthless! I was just trying to point out that they are on the expensive side and it costs even more when you consider installation. Most people on here would have a hard time doing that without a lift and the right tools.
Now, if you go a different way by building turbo intake pipes that go straight from the turbos up on top of the intercoolers, you save a lot of money for the parts which will be a lot easier to build, and you save a ton in labor not replacing the standard turbo intakes with the aftermarket ones. Most people would be able to install those without too much trouble. To do that though you either need a blow through MAF, or a MAFless tune like what you offer. MAFs are a problem in the long run anyway; they go bad. So if you replace the stock one with a good one to begin with, before you do your tune, that would be a good idea in my opinion. I would like to point out really quick that I think you are great, one of the few Porsche vendors whom I would consider knowledgable, have good parts and reasonable prices. You seem very helpful and honest as well. I have no beef with you what so ever =) Some of the other prices that I see gets me all worked up.
What you said here:
"Intake pipes on a 18g car will outperform your car with 18gs that has - "2.5" into 3.5" Y-pipe right now which will mate into a MAF then neck down to the TB." is not true because my setup would have the turbo intakes as well. My idea gets fresh air from the side ducts where the others get heat soaked because they end up in the engine bay. All the heat under the boot does make a difference.
I think you made that statement because I did not make it clear what I was trying to do. Fare enough.
I also didn't say the vendors are wrong as they make crappy parts, but IMHO their prices are unreasonable. Knowing how much these parts cost to make or having an idea how much they cost, and seeing the prices they charge people is what gets under my skin. People have to make a living, I understand but not by raping people.
Lets say Vendor A pays $2300 for an exhaust that they don't even make in house and turn around and sell it for more than 5K. Geebus… $3500 would be reasonable but 5??
I guess people don't know any better and thinks that's ok. They would argue it costs a lot for RnD; building the prototype, jig, etc. Well, selling 5 exhaust would cover that, which I write down as price of R&D, doing business, and the rest is gravy.
Again, I like Markski's prices. They are reasonable.
I agree it costs to build things from scratch, but I don't agree with the PORSCHE TAX.
I never said anything about Chinese knock offs by the way. Mind you, I just came back from SEMA and I saw a few Asian vendors who had top notch parts. Just because something is made in China, or where ever it may be made, doesn't make it automatically inferior, or bad. When I see something that is manufactured using high quality materials, that is designed well, and has great fit and finish, I appreciate it regardless! Anyway, it is not my place to defend the Chinese!! lol
If you want to pay more for something just so it has a name badge, by all means, be my guest. Doesn't mean I agree with it, but I am guilty of doing that too; just not when it comes to cars. If you want to pay extra for stuff so they have shiny stickers like… well you know who they are! then go ahead. Evoms wanted to charge me 3500 for a tune hehehe
No thanks.. not for a tune that they press a few keys and upload, not even done on the dyno. I like Markski's flash prices. How much is that MAFless tune by the way? Not Evoms prices right?

As for the
"turbo will spool up like a 16g and make 900+ for $4K with headers is not only not possible theoretically but more so practically... thats just simply wishful thinking or someone is selling you big dreams… "
What if I managed to prove you wrong on that? I mean spool up like, I don't mean spool faster! ("No Chinese junk"!) Would that make me a magician??

You bring up a good point about 'Porsche Tax' but others dont bring it up ,,just pay the price..
I just bought for my Tacoma pick up a complete stainless Borla exhaust which is dual 2.5'' piping,,from front to rear , 2 stainless mufflers and stainless brackets ,clamps, connectors , tips and all needed hardware..
$525...
I think it has to do with being a cheap Jap truck instead of a expensive German car...Wait ,,But didnt Toyota help design the 996 interior?...lol..

In all fairness,,,Those companys mass produce in volume in factory production style and buy material in volume >> while our special Porsche exhausts are hand made for our babies..
Doesnt that make it worth it then??...

Ok thanks for explaining. Makes sense.
The Chinese stuff is fine as long as its passes on with that known otherwise vendors like I are getting low balled for selling a product that costs me $60/hour to make vs. .60 cents. "Why is your exhaust $3000 wen I can get is for $1800 ". For example.
Our mafless tunes are in line with the Maf tunes.
I was at sema last year. Once u put Chinese stuff on a Porsche it's like selling yourself to the devil. But that's just me.
As far as turbos. A 30r will make 900 crank with nice power. A k16 billet 650 with a peak and dying but will spool up 1000 rpms faster. Put it on a Porsche and you will see.
