Thumbs down Porsche Exhaust sound :(

Does anyone else think that Porsche do have a nice exhaust sound at all. Don't get me wrong I love porsches to no end but they just fall short on the exhaust everytime. To me they all sound like they are just farting at idle and then get a wanna-be growl when hard on the gas but it lacks the throaty pressence it seems like it needs. I could be wrong but I am looking for an exhaust and all the vids I have seen dissapoint me. So please comment or post a link that has a good sounding exhaust and what it is.

CGT sounds amazing, but that's not the answer you expected.

I have yet to hear a TT that sounds beautiful. Actually, to an extent, a loud turbo whine is nice is a beasty kind of way ...

On the other hand, the NA can sound amazing!
Few hints, Rolex Grand Am Prototypes, Brumos Porsche. I couldn't believe they got that music out of a flat-6. Sounds like an angry italian V12!!!
On the more street legal side, GT3 with an unknown aftermarket exhaust got pretty close to that.

I have vids of both, will try to host them somewhere ...
edit - there you go (click on "free" at the bottom and you should be able to d/l it with a few seconds ...)

Brumos Porsche downshifting ...

...and going round a corner...

And the GT3 with nice exhaust ...
http://rapidshare.de/files/2684405/MOV00598.MPG.html

Both cars did sound even better in real life ... but that's the best my digicam can do ...

But I admit it's hard to get a Porsche to actually sound good like a Lambo or Ferrari does ...

you'll never get the sound of a ferrari, etc. with these cars....

Also...the sound you're looking to achieve will most likely be unbearable in the cabin. A GT3 with Straightpipes sounds pretty sick.... everything else is pretty mild.

I have the fabspeed and love the way it sounds...yes there's a lot of resonance...but who cares...it sounds great.

FWIW sound clips dont compare to hearing it in person.

I agree with Zorro - NA cars can sound MEAN. Turbos spend that exhaust capability on power. My truck sounds like a Ferrari but doesn't do anything fast. I am willing to give up the sound to have the capability of getting to the grocery store in 11.3 seconds.

after hearing/driving lambos with test pipes, 360's with tubi's, McLaren F1's, the CGT exhaust is by far the best sounding exhaust Ive ever heard.

call me crazy... but the CGT exhaust actually doesn't sound that great to me... it just sounds like a high-pitched whine to me, while I prefer low-tone growls.

The CGT stock is the closest sound to F1 available...

lol... crap...

I like a car for its looks, not its sounds, so it's all good to me. Off the top of my head, I can't really tell you what car sounds good though, lol. But yes, I agree.. the CGT is very F1-ish
