at 600 rwhp you still have avery streetable car. now ask this question. i want to drive my car from idaho to california for a holiday weekend. can i get race fuel or e85 for my trip? if you build a car for only high octane fuel you limit the amount of time you can drive it. these cars are great for the track or strip. mind blowing even. but they are also amazing cars to drive across country and truly enjoy.
im shooting for 600 rwhp on 93 oct. fuel . i can then drive the car just about anywere i want without fear of detonation. add 103 unleaded for the track and im golden for my level of power i want.
just a thought
heres a well sorted example from a well known member. i was trying to buy this when i found my yellow turbo.

That would be my end goal for the car....straight pump gas would be awesome. In all honesty, messing around with the bigger fuel mods for e85 or being stuck with race gas' $8/gallon price tag all the time does not attract me anymore. I was more or less seeing if it was possible to have a dual map tune where if I wanted it on kill mode I could switch to my race gas map, but also be able to use pump gas around town or down to California.
But yes, straight 91 pump would be my definite first choice.
Thanks for the thought!

epl has the ability to tune the car and for an additional fee provide another tune accesable thru their secure website by vehicle vin. that could be the race tune if you wanted. they also have 2 stage launch control and no lift shifting

You can get good numbers and results on Pump gas..
I am happy with my mods at pump gas level, see my below signature with my HP/TQ also.
My tuner,Protomotive, offers all the options with his tunes, as do many of the others tuners on here.
I have had a few tuners before Protomotive and all I can say is my car runs betterr then I ever expected on his pump gas tune..
But I would like to try to get more HP/TQ now with bigger turbos with pump gas..lol..

Mod Mike ,above posts, has run pretty even with his stock K24 turbos against A28 turbos until 4th gear with his Protomotive tune,,as he says ..
Just to give you an idea what can be had out of these cars with the right combo..

600 whp on these cars is easy. I came from a 730 whp evo and I have zero regrets. Once you own a Porsche you understand what all the hype is about.

I would suggest trying to find a car already modded! Sure as hell could save you a lot of money! I think I have like 50 to 75k in receipts for stuff the previous owner of my car had done! Welcome to the forum and good luck on your search! Getting to be a handful of people on here from Idaho! Lol!

I would say this information is more useful to someone coming from an Evo than a Supra, but still relevant overall since I'd hate for him to be thinking that the AWD system was really advanced or something. Once you're pushing 600+ whp, I suspect the relative lack of traction will be more apparent when it's colder outside or surfaces aren't at their best. A lot of guys go RWD in 996TTs to allow for more responsive steering feel, and of course to lose the weight and parasitic losses that come from turning the driveshaft and front diff of the factory system.
Just something worth educating yourself about prior to buying, so hoping the OP can move forward with confidence.

Then I would sell my K24/18gs..
