Well the engine detailing is finished......Thanks to Oak for the inspiration and KPV for recommending the OilFlo solvent. I can now work under the car without feeling like I'm under a leaking old diesel. I'm sure it's running even better now and is certainly faster

I told the wife I want a large mirror to park over so I can look at the engine as I walk through the garage

Looks great but speaking directly to the OCD part of you.... what about the headers? Sounds like some metal polish and some elbow grease could do the trick?

You wouldn't want to drive over a mirror. You'll want a polished alum instead.

Nice work on the detail. Someday I'll get to it. How long did it take you?

Took about 6-7 hours total.......it's a very messy job. You'll want goggles, gloves drop cloths, nylon and brass detailing brushes etc. I used jack stands and a comfortable creeper rather than a lift....for this type of job it's more comfortable for me to lay flat and work rather than stand with my neck bent back and arms extended overhead.
Concerning the headers..............yeah, they're ugly.....may have to do something about it...........thanks a lot

Hey Doc,
Can you post some pics of the brushes you used? I have to go back and finish my job.......just been dreading it!

I wonder if this will start a rampage of clean freaks!!

It really is a shame that the exquisite engineering of the 911 engine is slopped up with that goop pre-shipment.

Hi Ken,
I got the brushes from Griot's Click Here
This was one of those jobs that once you start you just don't want to stop till it's done.
