Texas Invitational Spring 2013 Airfield Event
General: The next TI will be held on the weekend of April 13th, 2013 in Caddo Mills, Texas. If it is possible to hold a rainout date it will be the first clear weekend thereafter. Saturday April 13th will be dedicated to an Open Session starting at 11am and Grudge Matches thereafter until we shutdown at 4pm. Grudge Matches will be setup online on the http://www.TexasSpeedSyndicate.com forum like last time. Sunday April 14th gates open at 8am, driver's meeting at 8:30am, and we will run a qualifier until about 10am. All waivers will be signed and all guests will be checked in at the gates. Your MPH in the qualifier will be your index speed to develop an elimination ladder for KOTS and the 6 Speed Challenge. No other MPH log will count. We will start KOTS once the KOTS ladder is created before lunch and then pick up/finish after lunch. We should be done with KOTS by 3pm and will pick up with the 6 Speed Challenge after that until we shutdown at 6pm.
What's New: New rules and regulations have been added, which you can review in the OFFICIAL REGISTRATION PACKET. The following is a brief highlight of the changes: disqualification for failure to grid up timely, disqualification for failure to set for a run timely, prohibition on non OEM lexan windows, the police officer working the event will spot check all vehicles for current tags (no grace period), MPH will be the new index metric for classes, there will be firemen with extinguishers at the end of the runway, and the police officer working the event will spot check everyone for their wrist bands (if you do not have one you will be escorted off the premises).
Driver Registration: Download, complete, and return the following registration packet to info@TexasSpeedSyndicate.com: OFFICIAL REGISTRATION PACKET. Your tech form is included in the packet. You can go above and beyond tech requirements voluntarily. Its up to you to wear a fire suit, install a roll cage, fire extinguisher, engine diaper, HANS device, belly pans, drive shaft loops, and so on. These are extra steps you can take to make your experience safer. Safety is your hands alone so take it seriously. Once you return your registration packet selected drivers will receive an invitation and invoice of $255 per driver plus $40 per guest. Driver fees including your event t shirt, vinyl numbers for your car, and wrist band for entry.
Media. Pictures and video at the event is fine. After the event posting up event media anywhere online is fine. Make sure to include all sponsors in your videos. If there are any mishaps, have some decency and respect for your friends and put the cameras away. Media capitalizing on one's misfortune without consent is for vultures and *******s.
Host Hotel. MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS NOW. Most central location will be at the Hilton Hotel in Rockwall, Texas. It is close to the event location and dining. The hotel is on Lake Ray Hubbard. Waterfront and interior rooms are available. If you want to know more about the area you can click here: website for the area. We plan on making the same parking lot arrangements as our last event by subleasing a portion of the parking lot and having security present. Click here for the online Hotel site. Hotel address: 2055 Summer Lee Drive in Rockwall, Texas 75032. 214 771 3700.
On Site. Airfield Crew, Cleanup, and Fire. Similar to last time at the airfield we will have a dedicated fire crew, EMS, clean up crew with the Zamboni, porta potties, and hand wash stations. If you hear a pop, bang, see a loss in oil pressure, or anything else not normal from your car while driving on the airfield please stop your vehicle in your lane as soon as possible. Failure to stop your vehicle in your lane when spewing oil will only cause clean up delays. Never change lanes if you are spilling any fluid because that will require a monumental clean up effort and likely a lane or track closure. On the other hand if your vehicle catches on fire pull over onto the grass. The fire crew can then take care of your vehicle and attend to any grass fire.
Driving Procedure: Vehicles will be called to line up at the grid. If you fail to grid once it is closed, you will be disqualified. There are no exceptions or excuses getting to the grid late, you are now forewarned. The grid master will release you down the side of the airfield in a single file line to the taxi lane where you pair up. From there vehicles are signaled to line up and burn out. Keep your eye on the traffic light. It will be red at this point. If you are ready to go give the starter a thumbs up. The light will change to yellow and at that point begin pacing to 60mph (or whatever speed you have mutually agreed on). Don't wait for the person next to you. Get up to 60mph and hold. We will have a green flag zone set up. If you are not side by side in the green flag zone you will receive a red light, at which point you need to stop and turn around. After one red light you will receive a lecture from the starter. If you are side by side in the hot box you will receive a green light and the race is on. Accelerate thereafter to the finish line flags. After the checkered flags begin slow down. If equipped with a chute, the smarter guys will drive through chute deployment so weight transfer is smooth. Always yield to the vehicle on your RIGHT before turning around. DO NOT abort your pass if there is a bike chase cam sharing a lane. Do not drive past the yellow tarp X at the end of the field. When in the taxi lane returning back up maintain a minimum speed of 80mph. Unless directed otherwise, return to the pit area after your run.

Granted but don't call someone on and then back out.
I would have rather not said anything just show up and do what you show up to do and then go home. Thats what "real" racers do. Bench racers talk about what they plan on doing.

Its all fun and games...as far as racing Ive been to both and the mile severel times ...How many have you been to? The only reason I want to go cross country its because its a better run event & better competition trust me!! I did not know they were a week apart...either way Tym is on board. So if you want to run the fasted cars you know were to go As far as bench racing I can do it because I actually race....

Yeah there isn't faster competition up north unless UGR, LMR or AMS brings their cars out. The fastest UGR cars are here in Texas and fastest LMR cars the same. Plus the T1R GTRs and PLENTY of other fast cars. So the competition and the event itself = win.

With all due respect u dont have a clue .We are running from no one. Fyi i pm'd Tim two days ago to get his input on it and Tim expressed to me he was going to Texas and also shared some of the same concerns i did about the pocono event .With the two events a week apart only one will be possible.
