Uh Oh! P1145 P1155 Error Codes

My car threw a P1145 and P1155 code. Any help in what they are and what I need to do. I think the P1145 is a O2 sensor going bad, but what is the P1155? The P1145 code is shown below (compliments of rmrmd1956).

DME 7.8 DME 7.8
0-122.7
P1145
Oxygen Sensor Ahead of TWC, Bank 1 – Above Limit
Diagnosis conditions
Note!
A lot of time is required (several days) until a fault is detected.
Possible fault cause
. Valve lift fault
. False air on the oxygen sensor after TWC
. Oxygen sensor
Affected terminals
-
Note!
. As this fault can be caused by a faulty flat-base tappet, a system
test for a small lift has to be performed initially. The fault can
occur sporadically; the test should therefore be performed at
least three times when the engine is at operating temperature.
. First indication of a valve lift fault can be provided by the adaptation
values at idle speed (RKAT) and in the lower part load (FRAU)
if they differ by more than 10 %.
Perform system test for small lift
Warning!
Test is carried out while driving. Have a second person operate
the Porsche System Tester 2.
During the system test for small lift, the valves remain at small lift,
regardless of the type of driving. Faulty switching conditions can be
detected by rough running, just like with misfire detection.
Several cylinders may be stored as faulty, although only one valve
on one cylinder is faulty.
In order to ensure that the fault is repaired, the flat-base tappets of
the inlet valves of the entire cylinder bank should be replaced if a
fault occurs.

DME 7.8 DME 7.8
A faulty flat-base tappet can be detected because the oxygen sen
sor
FR for this cylinder bank enriches the mixture (FR > 1) during
acceleration with wide-open throttle see drawing below. Difference
from the other oxygen sensor > approx. 15 %. In the case of a
fault, the flat-base tappets of the inlet valves for the entire cylinder
bank must be replaced.
AB
A-Oxygen sensing, bank 1
B-Oxygen sensing, bank 2
1 -Select system test.
2 -Select "Request small lift".
If "Valve lift diagnosis not ready" appears, a fault may have
been stored.
1. Erase the fault memory.
3 -Activate the system test with the key
F8
immediately
before acceleration with wide-open throttle.
The message "Drive link active" then appears.
Note!
If "Request small lift" appears, the valves remain at small lift,
i.e. the performance is reduced dramatically.

p1145 Printed in Germany – 6, 2002

DME 7.8 DME 7.8
4 -Perform acceleration with wide-open throttle in 2nd
gear, until "Valve lift diagnosis completed" (max. 4000
rpm) appears.
At speeds above 4000 rpm, misfires may be stored. Delete
the fault memory and repeat the test.
Note!
. If a fault is detected, it is only recorded in the fault memory after
6,000 ignitions (at idling speed approx. 3 minutes waiting time).
. It is important to observe the oxygen sensors during acceleration
with wide-open throttle or to record their behaviour with the
data logger.
Diagnosis/Troubleshooting
Note!
. Do not use contact spray on the connectors to oxygen sensor.
. If other faults (fuel supply) are stored in the memory, rectify these first.
Work instruction Display OK If not OK
1 Check exhaust system for
leaks
Repair exhaust system
. End
2 Replace oxygen sensor
Note!
Do not exchange oxygen sensors ahead of catalytic converter and
after catalytic converter.

got the 1145 code for the longest time now(IA STAGE 4/EVO intake ).dealer maintain its the exhaust(awe 300 cell cats) n even if i change the 02 sensors it will return again. considering whether to try a diff exh (EP quiet) n to eliminate this nagging issue.what exhaust do you hv currently n hv you actually tried changing the sensors/maf to try to eliminate this problem. With this ongoing issue,i feel the boost kicking in later n the car seem sluggish .

What programming are you running? You should observe oxs activity in the live data fields, oxs before the cats and they should appear similar.
Gees, and I thought with OBD2 these cars would just about fix themselves.

thread revival, was the problem ever figured out?
I keep getting the same p1145 and p1155 codes, typical MIL comes on for them when under very light load, believe I have a EVOMS stage 3 package.
Have brand new primary o2 sensors, coils, plugs etc, have cleaned the MAF and MAP sensors as well. Oddly, everytime the freeze frame data shows the MAP sensor reading 255kpa?!?!

Had to recently both pre-cat O2 sensor and new MAF and now she is not throwing any codes at all. MAF cleaning may not do the trick

thanks for the reply,.. replacing the MAF was what I was thinking about doing as well, car seemed happier even after a cleaning so might be what I need to do. Will replace the MAP as well because it's dirt cheap and it could be causing the really weird '255 kpa' reading(wondering if this had something to do with EVOMS tuning-maybe 'manipulating' the maps instead of making 'new' ones??, 'piggyback-ish')..car runs great but keep throwing the codes

Revival: Same P1145 issue here with my 2002. Got this once or twice a year ago, then about a month ago started getting it consistently. Replaced all 4 O2 sensors but after 100 miles it it back again! Have not cleaned MAF recently but did about a year ago. Not sure that could be related.

Are the other causes for this "O2 Pre Sensor Exceeds Value" code? I only get this on the 1-3 side.

make sure turbo to exhaust flanges are trued/ dead flat and put on new sealing rings, also avoid secondary o2 extenders

i'd enjoy that but it would be a pretty long drive - I would have to get my new rear tires on first....

i have durametric and could log this - that can be done remotely.

Will do - sealing rings shall be replaced. I got this with the OEM exhaust and no extenders, and continue to get it with SpeedTech exhaust (100 cell cats), new sensors and extenders.
