997.2 Gt2 IC which boost hoses??

Which boost hoses are people running when they have installed the 997.2 GT2RS intercoolers?? I have a set going onto my car at the moment and I've been told that the intercoolers are slightly different from the standard 996T ones, and that the Forge boost hoses might not fit correctly.

Cheers.

i used Forge, but you have to make sure the metal ends are fully in and clipped in properly using the 997 intecooler clips which are different then 996tt. otherwise everything works fine.

I've used stock and Forge. Stock fit better but I had no issue with the Forge either. The Forge did not have as much lateral support (fair amount of wiggle side to side) in the inlet tank but still sealed fine. You can wrap some felt above the bayonets to stabilize it if you're worried. I would also suggest the 997 style o-rings -its a double ribbed design vs the plain 996 o-rings.

Thanks for the response guys, would I just source the 997 style o rings from a dealership?? Anybody know the exact name or part number??

I no longer have the standard hoses and am looking to upgrade to some Forge ones, however the thought of them moving around a decent bit is no filling me with confidence, I'm looking for a tight snug fit that I won't have to worry about. Does anybody do a kit that fits these intercoolers perfectly, Samco??

I've seen your thread Btw Earl, great work.

I've ordered the 997 O-rings, Porsche garage knew what I was talking about so happy days.

Now I just have to sort the hoses, Earl if you have any pics of the Forge hoses fitted to the intercoolers could you post them and point out were the issue lies with the fitting and our solution?? I would have thought that any play in the hoses would result in a boost loss.

Thanks

I had the forge hoses on my car prior to the 997.2 IC install. They did not clip in properly to the 997.2 ICs. I think the aluminum hose ends need to be machined down slightly to enlarge the inside diameter to fit over the lip in the IC neck. I sold them and bought a new set of 4 OEM hoses for around $200 at wholesale if I recall correctly. They're a perfect fit and zero issues with running 1.2 bar. Heck, the 997 GT2 RS runs standard hoses at 1.5 bar... Just FYI, on my previous set up I went from OEM to Forge and saw absolutely no difference in performance. In my opinion the aftermarket hoses are a bit of a snake oil for moderate boost applications....

I installed two days ago A30 turbos. When I tried to do the first runs my passenger hose blow(from turbo to ic)!!I installed the hose tight and try few more runs...then the drivers hose blow.

For one year with my x50 package the ic-hoses run perfect. What is the problem now??
My max boost is 1,2 for now.
