Some observations about the highways - In France

I just got back from a week long vacation from France. Awesome Time!!

I decided to gt brave and rent a car while there. The driving in Paris was pretty hectic but not too bad. We decided to take a drive down to Monaco and Nice for a few days.

WOW!!! I loved that 8 hour drive!! Beautiful roads and SUPER courtious drivers. Everyone was flying at about 140Km most of the way. The few that chose to go slower drove in the far right lane. I saw cars towing trailers cruising at 130Km .

It was so relaxing not to have idiots on the roads there.. I felt almost refreshed by the time we reached Monaco, no road rage!!

It was great getting passed by some super sweet rides - Aston Martin DB9, 997S, multiple AMG sedans and so on. Wish I had my TT there

I was just amazed at how much difference a certain attitude towards driving can make. It was almost if everone was fully cooperating with others in their driving styles.

Oh, BTW.. did I mention the tolls? Almost 150 Euros for the round trip.. yikes! but worth the great experience...

Driving in France is great, if there isn't significent traffic. Great driving roads and excellent scenery. I didn't know that you were here. I'm In Cannes and do drive to Monte carlo alot. Any other 6speeder in the area? Would be great to meet for coffee.

Khalid!!!

Hi Khalid,
How far away are you from Valbonne [just north of Nice?] I come to the South of France fairly often.

I've done a lot of miles through Spain over the 4 years or so I've spent there on and off, and I have to say courteous drivers + incredible scenery make for the best possible road trips.

Raza, next time hopefully.

B7R, I'll be here untill the 3rd of august so will probably be seeing you before I leave.

Bashy, never been to Valbonne but if it's north of Nice, then it's doable as well. Drop me a pm if you're in the area.
