I am sorry but "iam" going to have to argue that a supra is not an ultimate street car.

You might be a car "exthaust" but your spelling needs some work.

Drive a stock 996TT, defecate* your pants, come back and then we´ll see if you ever ask such questions again.

* There´s an addition for your vocabulary.

Ok, the Supra weighs 3568 lbs, the 996 TT weighs 3505. 50 hp difference......In a straight line, the Supra might win. In a circuit race track the 996TT would win. In a 30-100 mph its a toss up.....
If cvj lost to one WITH OVER 1000 HP, it is a completeyl different match. If you were to ask, "Who would win between a 650hp 996TT or a 650 hp Supra?"...well...I think we all know the answer.

sorry, but no you don't... torque curves, gearing, & driver skill play too large of a role to determine the outcome.

peak hp means absolutely nothing so it's ridiculous to compare two "650hp" cars... a 650hp supra could have a ton of lag or very little at all - it all depends on the turbo set up.

the only way you'll know is if you have 2 *real* cars and you run them...

The Supra might win?? There is actually a 100hp difference and stock vs. stock, a 996TT will destroy a Supra in every category... A Supra wouldn't even be able to keep up a straight line or on the track. In stock form, there is absolutely no comparison.

Then again... Even a Supra with 1200hp, is still a Supra!! Comparing these two cars is pointless... One is a German, low key exotic and the other is an old, Japanese sports car. Come on guys, lets get serious.

Duh...Of course dude.
His question was a 700hp Supra vs. a 650hp TT.
Stock....come on. I would not even waste my gas on a stock Supra if I had a stock TT.

Unless it is an '01 911 turbo 6spd that weighs 3395lbs. Why the '02s and on became heavier, I dunno (glove box + bose system + etc?).

except that the old japanese sports car has been proven to support 1100bhp on a totally unopened motor and stock tranny.. i wouldnt just call it an old japanese sports car...

As a big single turbo supra owner even I am sick of seeing threads like these.......who cares who would win. There is more to a car then straight line acceleration.
