LWFW query
Hi all,
I recently replaced the clutch and dual mass flywheel with a Sachs 890nm clutch and Sebro LWFW.
I have done a considerable amount of research on the LWFW and noises associated with it. So I was expecting the noisy chatter at idle while car is in neutral.
However I get a very noticeable rattle from around 2k-3k revs, this is extremely noisy in high gears, so if I'm in 4th at 2k revs and put full throttle on the noise is very noticeable, it's sounds similar to a loose heat shield type rattle. Is this normal?? If somebody who wasn't familiar was in the passenger seat they would think the engine is about to say goodnight........... Normal or not normal??
Thanks

Yup sounds like a heat shield vibrating... Nothing harmful with the rattle but lugging these motors is not a great practise unless it is 1st or second gear slow driving.
Any other gears and you really should consider 2500 + to be the good working accelerating start number.

Do not fear the revs. I would suggest redline in fourth gear daily (depending on where you live. For me that was easy to do and usually well into 5th)
Enjoy

I will say. The rattle is not bad but lugging these motors in higher gears can cause costly failures.
