My co-worker and I talk a lot about cars. I've got a 996tt. He's got a very nice sleeper corvette. No exterior mods but 700 hp, RWD; also stripped some weight out.

He doesn't normally race but a few days ago some guy in a ZR1 pulls up next to him on the high-way. Revs the engine so he figures why not.

3 pulls and he beats him all 3 times.

Finally the guy slows down, rolls down the window and yells "Holy %^% what do you have in there?"

 

Hopefully it was done safely. If it beat a ZR-1 fair and square, it sounds pretty stout.
What year corvette is it and what is powerplant and power adders (N/A, or popular SuperCharged route or...?)

 

Yeah it was done safely. I think he drives safe normally and was on an open section of highway near our work.

I don't know exactly what year it is other than it's relatively new. Definitely the last 5 years or so. Not too up on corvettes. Not sure about how the engine mods were done. Other than it's running at about 700 hp. I'll ask him next time I see him in the office.

He doesn't have any air-scoop or any external mods so it's a real sleeper. Very nice looking car actually.

 

My buddy (Atomic Z on here) has a Z06 that is 580-585 RWHP. It is faster than a ZR-1 also. (195 mph in TX MILE). It is very fast (plus has regeared it to use power and get rid of the TALL 5th and 6th gear. This sucker moves OUT !

 

Did Eric make that a track car yet?

Eric's car is getting full (FULL) cage in it right now, Its plates are long expired and is a great track car. I have driven it (not on a track) and it fricking hauls ***. He already has brakes, suspension and many other things on it. He will hit the tracks again this year. cheers.

 

I was googling around and it looks similar to a 2006 model which I presume is the Z06.

 

That happens to me all the time in MY12 Turbo S. I just smile and accelerate slowly. The world is depressed enough without me adding the problem.

 

Corvettes in most configurations are great track cars. They also have a chevy v-8 which means it could be 450 hp to 1450 hp. Looks tells you nothing i
