Were a bike friendly B&B and I have many discussions with bikers about my 650 bhp 911tt V their bikes and not one of them say they would like to have a battle around a track with a 911. don't forget bikers are normally car drivers as well. Even the riders that come here with 200 bhp hayabusa turbos admit real true sports cars are quicker into and around tight corners.

No one in their right mind would try and out run a modern sports bike on the streets but on a track its a fact , given a pro car driver and a pro bike rider on a track it will end up with a game of cat and mouse. Car and bike swapping lead depending on corner or straight.

Some of the more powerful 911's on this site will pull very close acceleration figures to top bikes so might even give bikes a good run for their money on the drag strip.....admittedly a 1000bhp 911 isn't a fair run against a production bike .

Anyway, I learnt my lesson 30 years ago....never race a biker.

Well, the debate really started from your video, which is street car vs. street bike. F1 is a whole different animal.

I do agree that sport bikes aren't ideal for slow, tight corners though. You'll be faster on a motard for that since you can flick it around more.

In any case, the major difference is how skilled you are. It matters a lot less in a car than on a bike, hence the average Joe in a sports car will probably be quicker than the average Joe on a sport bike.

Moto GP if I'm not mistaken is somewhere around a FIA/ALMS GT2 car, maybe even GT1. That's a fair comparison since it's a real GT developed from a street car.

It's really about even. Skill level and bike/car prep are the biggest things, and as you digress through the various levels, it's still true. Similar skill level and prep will result in similar times.
