K24/18g wanting more power under curve, A28's next logical choice?

You are the one that you know more about this..

I can't say anything because I havn't got the car back, but I did take Sam's advice and bought K16 billet's, 997.2 IC's, 60lb injectors, and inlet pipes.
Mark is hopefully putting everything on this week or next. We're also doing Plugs, coilpacks, etc.
I've had just regular K24's for the past year and am really hoping for a nice kick in the pants with this set up.

i'm certain that given all the options, you have to consider how quickly and when you want power delivered. i drive freeways and canyons..and since i live in a nat'l park. let's say canyons mostly; highways don't matter ( as much ) relative to power band as such, while canyon cutting/carving requires me to be much quicker and have boost on tap quickly that either stock 16's/ecu; no flash or even the 24's with the larger ic's; could not deliver. with my last car; flashed w x50 24's, i still felt as if i was making a reservation for boost rather than instant "ON". zzzz... kidding but not by much. i likened it to an old school two stroke motorbike coming into its power band with a necksnap.
whatever else you'll be doing this time around to support the newer turbo's ( i/c's/5bar fpr??).. you will LOVE the 16 billet hybrids you got from sam. there really is no lag.. ok there is barely perceptable lag ( relative to stock 16 or 24's ) and they WILL keep you focused.
enjoy the upgrades.

I think my K24/18g combo feels very good and is easy to drive,,nothing a quick down shift can not handle if needed..
My next choice would be after much research and help would be 3071s because I would get higher and more linear powerband with gaining a quicker spool, not loosing any spool like with K24/20s..

The reason I am asking is I might be looking to do the 3076's after my intercoolers and water meth later this year.

As Todd from Proto,Mike from Blouch and Markski told me that they will better all around then the K24/18gs at my level..
But you can get more out of either turbo with Meth..Both will max out a stock blocks limatations.
Most will advise going right to 3076s because of the more top end potential from adding more mods plus if you go into the block you will be set to use them to the fullest,,,AND if not the tuner can dial them down...I dont want that temptation,,LOL..

K16 billets + other supporting mods mentioned, will be good set up for corner to corner blasts at your local track. My car was "more fun" with K16's on a road racing track on the tight sections. At Road America, my car was more fun (albeit terrifying) with K24/18G and all supporting mods. Too much MPH could be had on both of long straights... Woohoo, but scary !

I bought from Sam A3076...I will post results in few days...

I believe there was a Dyno sheet on here recently comparing the 2 turbos from Prodigymb..

Yes,but the first A3076 was on 93+meth and the second HTA 3071 on E85

E85 helps spool..

Always remember you can mix and match a bit. many call these a "secret or special turbo" but it's really like anything else. Done in the right way of course. If you are losing sleep over it (and many do) I have done a few A3073's. Happy guys.

And as far as i know you didnt buy of the shelf A3076, as you need external wastegates, headers and more.... Aphas are almost direct bolt on, internal gates, working with stock headers, you might have some bigger turbos than alphas...at least on the hotside and at least compared to A3071
I had K24, flashed K24 and A3076 with all suporting mods and i can say that the difference when they hit is like 300 rpms, but have to take into consideration not just engine and turbos but ALL SUPPORTING MODS..... these are going to help spool as well and dont compare a stock airbox A28 car with a fully modded A3071 car by example.. nothing to see

I didn't say that or imply that either.
He said he DIDN'T want more power, but more power under the curve and sooner spool. The K16 Billets would not sacrifice his power, give him more power under the curve, quicker spool time, cost him almost nothing over his K24/18g's....hence the recommendation for the k16 Billets.
Now if he had to spend money and lose power to pick up power under the curve and quicker spool....that would not make sense.
Thanks

Mark is hopefully putting everything on this week or next. We're also doing Plugs, coilpacks, etc.

Markski - it seems that if I go with A30's I will be in the same boat (repsonse-wise) as the k24/18g, picking up boost around 3300-3500rpm.... only with a boatload more power. You mentioned A28's weren't a good choice, but they seem to spool around 2600 RPM from various dyno's that I've run across. How are these, in your opinion, not beneficial?
The K16 billet cost versus the A28's is drastic, but I'm still out 2k+ for a retune, EvoMS being my local tuner.
I apprecaite the input, the K16 billets do sound appealing.
