Results switching from a stock Y-pipe to a 3" custom one
Baseline was done a few days prior. The new Y-pipe was completed and NO changes were done to the car through the boost controller or the tune. Just strapped back on and ran again...
Setup:
Stock motor
Stock exhaust manifolds
74mm ipd plenum
74mm tb
HTA 3071
E85
1.6 bar
Before: 607/596
After: 607/643

Great,,Nice improvement...
Do you think on 93 pump gas with the lower boost to match for that fuel,,It would have been that good of improvement also with that large 3''??..
IMO, I wouldnt think so..
Keep up the good testing..

I would be interested as well. It looks like a little like a little boost spike as the turbo spools up since your peak torque went up, but your peak hp did not.
Bigger intake piping should give you more top end power instead of bottom end torque.

From what I have seen,,most guys at mid level stage +lower boost then his, get better results all around with a 2.5'' pipe..

The car feels much more responsive and frantic on the street. I love it.

If you look at the overlay the hp and tq did not change up top. You are saying peak torque went up which is true but the car also made a substantial amount more hp from throttle input until 6100 rpm. Same with torque.

The torque limiter could be set in the ecu. I think that maybe the case as their is stock rods? good test and back to back. For my info, stars and moon in the same alignment for both dyno pulls? haha...

Having a custom Y pipe built now. I had an aftermarket 3 inch job
but it never fit! In between boost leaks it was awesome
I had Markski take it off because it took an extra 2 hours to do
anything in the engine bay and I was tired of hearing Markski
cursing out a Y pipe lol.
I can attest to the difference it makes. I'm not one bit surprised
at the power under the curve and the massive torque gain.
