Also, what Porsche shops are in the area if I want to have the car inspected?

I'm curious to know about ebay. I guess the highest bidder backed out or had insufficient funds. So did the seller contact you since you were the 2nd highest bidder?

 

Yeah..sounds like someone bought the car that way...and he had no idea what he bought...now he's trying to get out of it...Not sure I would've bid on that auction sight unseen...

 

I am not familiar with that particular car.

 

They could have at least had some clearer pictures, but I do see they had 100% feedback, not sure what items they were for though.

I spoke with the guy on the phone for half an hour, and he would go to AWE to get a PPI done. Is that a good shop to get that kind of car inspected?

 

They make lots of aftermarket parts for our cars, so probably not a bad choice.

 

I think members here can verify...be sure to ask, or tell them what you want them to look at. A PPI is not really a "standard" inspection. You can have them inspect anything you want..might cost you more, but worth it.
They will likely NOT do a leakdown or compression test, they likely might not dump the ECU to check for overrev's, etc...Things like this would be mandatory for me.

 

AWE in the Willow Grove area might not be a bad choice for a PPI.

Alternatively, you might have Fabspeed in Ambler, PA do the PPI - they are an EVOMS dealer, IIRC, so who knows but they might even know the full history of this car (if it's originally local).

 

There's also Conshohocken Porsche nearby that's where i got my 03 996 tt my whole experience was pleasant. Good luck with your search.
