First visit to 1/4 with 996TT X50
To start with I had a blast! Last time I was at the 1/4 track was back in October of 2011 in my E46 turbo M3. As always the first time out was a bit nerve wrecking, getting to know the car and finding the good shift points. I have missed a car that just grabs and goes (DSM/Evo Days).
It was a great day for drag racing and the track was prepped well (75/80 Dragstrip in Maryland). The car is running 93 pump octane, left the tire pressure the same as I run on the street. Technically I wanted to drive the car to the track, do a couple of runs and drive back home. Needless to say, I love the way this car runs at the track. It performed beyond what I had expected and with only 4 passes. The last pass they told me to shut her down since I went lower than 11.50 and I don't have a roll cage.
Car Specs:
2003 996TT with X50 Package, 6 speed manual
911tunning exhaust with 100 cell cats
EPL X50 tune on pump gas running 1.1 bar
PSS9 Suspension
18" Fikse with Toyo R888s 235F 315R
Heavy Duty pressure plate (900 hp rated) with Sachs GT2 clutch disk, GT2 Slave conversion
1st Pass: 12.17 @ 121.03 mph with a 2.05 60'
(Bogged pretty bad getting to know clutch a bit, rpms around 3000)
2nd Pass: 11.85 @ 122.14 mph with 1.89 60'
(Better feel of the clutch, getting more comfortable with the launch, rpms around 3500)
3rd Pass: 11.75 @ 122.14 mph with 1.83 60'
(Decent pass, but knew she had more in her, rpms around 3800)
4th Pass: 11.36 @ 124.24 mph with 1.65 60'
(Last pass of the night, decided to make it count, rpms around 4100 and slipped the clutch aggressively. Chirp the tires out the whole, but she stuck incredibly)

Thanks man! I submitted my timeslip to the 1/4 list.
Thanks my friend and thats my next goal, but I am going to enjoy her a bit more before I start modding. Next time I might try MIR. In the mean time, I signed up for an HPDE event at VIR for June 8th.

Not sure on the flat shift, but I definitely did not try it in any of my runs. I was lifting on the throttle on each shift. I didn't want an expensive repair bill if the car did not like it, lol.

are you still awd? no burnout for the r888? i have a very similar mod list and just put r888 on mine. the rain is keeping me from the track but hope to get close to your times. very nice!
btw with the epl tune dont you have launch control and no lift shifting? mine has it and the l/c sets the limit at about 4500 rpm and just rockets the car out of the hole
