Check out this YouTube video. This is what they did with your wheel.

I said it was carbon hydro dipped i was there when they did one wheel. Its not as easy as you think on wheels. They have to be prepped for this. Trust me try to get it done and see how much they charge. As i said before wheels get very hot from the brakes so this takes a couple of weeks too do.

Just because someone charges 15k for carbon fiber which is unreal doesn't mean a company will not do it cheaper. If you brought your wheels over there they wheel charge you atleast 4k and 4 to 6 weeks to get it done. The whole wheel is not carbon fiber only 5 inches from the inside out is carbon fiber. If i would have the whole wheel carbon fiber it would cost 8k to do it. No point because no one will see the inside. I hope now some people not all will understand LOL.
Actually you said they used real carbon fiber on the wheels which in reality they did NOTHING of the sort.

I used some carbon fiber parts on some of my race bikes in the '90's. Exhaust cans, mounts, brackets, etc. It was aerospace tech passed down. The good was that it was very strong, heat proof to a high degree, and ultra light weight. A side benefit was it could be have a clear coating applied and be left as is. This led to laying up the weave in such a way that it would look nice when cleared and left as is.

So what I've seen a lot of lately are patterns and printed weaves that are supposed to resemble carbon fiber but in reality are just a faux finish. I guess this is what is on your wheels. If you like it great, it's your vehicle and you should please yourself. To hell with what others think. I have seen entire sheets of vinyl with a CF look to it and people are covering lots of stuff with it, things that you wouldn't even want out of real CF for various reasons. Have fun, that's what customizing is all about.

+1. A friend of mine owns a hydrodip company and they can dip pretty much anything with any pattern. They do a lot of auto parts like doing camo patterns on truck grilles, rollbars, etc. You can choose pretty much anything from a carbon weave look (like on the OPs wheels) to skulls, flowers, or pictures of boat anchors. The process, however, has nothing to do with any carbon fibre material whatsoever. If the finish floats your boat than that's what matters but some may find it akin to wearing a fake Rolex..
