Deionized water system

rockitman;
The water in my area is so bad, that even the little bit that dries before I can get to dry it leaves nasty spots.
I do like my compressor to blow out the wheels tho.
The yard blower sounds like a good suggestion for many.

My local (San Jose) contact is Mr. Tim Adelman 1 (408) 360-5924.
My local office says they have a Pico Rivera (?sp) office that also works with people like me (small user) at (562) 942-2200 - ask for sales.

Just curious. I am also a ChemE- City College of NY, 1970 and also own a 'specialty chemical company'. I am involved with water treatment products for HVAC systems. What does your company do?

Hell now that we have completely hijacked the thread, I am thinking we should start our own group, tt & ChemE.
I own Color Change Corporation. www.colorchange.com We make products that change color.
I recommend a unit from Ameriwater.
http://www.ameriwater.com/silex.html
The unit is $300, $140 for the first resin bag and $46 for each recharge. One resin bag can do about 200 gallons of water, assuming normal conductivity water. You can normally spot free rinse with well less than 10 gallons.
Msindi 2001 and own a tt? you suck.

Spot free rinse with less than 10 gallons... from a DI unit that makes 1 GPM = ten minutes just to "rinse" the car??? The hard water spots will already be set in before I can get it rinsed
Why not just call the big boys and get some waterflow HP to go with your TT:
IONICS in MA:
Ludlow

Watertown

I found a web site that might be interesting. A filter ( deion xchg of some sort, I'm No chemE) that loses no pressure while in use. Why don't some of you ChemE's check it out and let us know what you think. It's at topoftheline.com (Speciialized detail tools).

I just saw an ad on TV last night for a product that you attach to the end of the garden hose, it has car wash soap in it and micro sized water purification filter for rinsing - spot free they say. (somrthing like $30 bucks). I don't recall who made it (windex or someone like that), but it was a TV ad for supposedly an advance order of the product that would be in stores next year.
Helpfull huh ?

The little inline DI filter is bogus. Can't be di'd that fast.

Small DI filters actually do work, they just have very little flow and take forever, and are not as pure as a "real" system.
