USP Motorsports GT2 goes 9.80 in the 1/4!!

The heat was a killer for us the DA was almost 1900 feet at night
The car really doesn't make much power as it sits I left the boost pretty low because I wanted to dial in the car first. I feel a broad power band with a well setup car is the key.
Anyone wanna guess the power ??
I'm gonna say 880-900 you don't need to much more power to go 9.80. Weight is key

Amazing build Chris...
Really? 99% of the threads of big horse power, never mention that...

Show me how many BIG HP Porsche have gone 9's and I mean 1000+HP I bet even Evoms when they went 9.6 didn't have it on Kill

Congrats.. You made it look so easy as I expected.. The right combination mixed with experience at the drag strip has proven to be lethal once again!!!! I can see some 9.4s in the winter coming..

The car has torque solution engine and transmission mounts along with all the Dogbones, Toe Links and Thrust arm dialed in correctly which helps.. The suspension is Stock Gt2 but custom valving and spring rates..

Ie
Run full weight with 900hp
Then
Reduce weight by 400 lbs and run with 900hp.
To see how much it helps w less weight.
Typically only hear about more and more power , but not other dynamics

? I don't understand that comment. What I was trying to express is, does anyone who does drag racing really know the net gain with going lighter ?

Yes the rule of thumb in most cases is 100lbs=1/10th.. Its not always the case as many other factors play a role like transmission and gearing but its a general rule of thumb..

Incredible build and you guys are honest about it! Congratulations and I hope
you guys annihilate evoms.
You are 750 - 850 hp. That's all you need with gt2 weight, even with 75 lb xtra.

Horsepower becomes a hindrance in these cars when you pass the 900 mark.
unless you're running the mile, of course

Chris said in his earlier posts that there was no weight loss...actually weight GAIN...My guess is 750whp...or maybe a little less...
Chris knows how to drive...THAT is the biggest key to this car's performance.....

i believe this is my biggest stumbling block with my car. my setup is so stiff (road race style) that im wheel hopping all over the place killing my 60 ft times
