Help, Numeric Shifter install!
Thanks in advance.
I am installing a beautiful looking Numeric shifter and I am at a roadblock.
How do I get the cable ends off my "stock" shifter so that I can mount them on the Numeric?
Is this is STOCK 996TT shifter? It looks like the cable end is rivoted on to me on the white piece.
TIA!

Looks like you dont have a stock shifter.
Judging by the bolt on the axis of the shifter, I would say its an aftermarket short shifter.
More pics would help us figure it out.
You could sell that one and recoup a little

I installed a Numeric Racing shifter and it is GLORIOUS.
Transforms the feel of driving. Worth its price IMO.

It is an entire assembly not just some "drop in" parts. Shifts have a "rifle bolt" precision feel as someone else described, which I completely agree.

The shortest throw on the Numeric is definitely less than the 997SSK.

On the middle setting, travel seems to be similar as my old shifter (whatever it is) but the connection is dramatically more solid. Gone are the wiggle room, clunks, anything that would contribute to a feeling of less precision.
I dont know if its better than my old S2000 shifter but it is at least as good, and the shifter in an S2000 is the best Ive come across in any brand, bar none.

You didn't buy the cup cables that he sells with the shifter??
The shifter is a great piece and the feel of it in the middle location is very similar to the 997ssk but just more solid
