Just as an update. I went with 5w50. The most noticeable difference with the 0w40 is that the lifter sound at startup seems much shorter and quieter. Maybe it takes longer to completely drain out of the engine?

In any case, car runs great. I think it may also burn a little less oil than before. Usually a long spirited day of driving takes off one bar. Nothing now.

mine is running quieter ( startup ) w 6qts 0/40 & 2.5-3 of 5/40. think i've found a happy medium for hot temps.

I've been running the Mobil1 TDT for about 3k now. Before, it was M1 0-40. As others have said, it's quieter on start up with the TDT. I'm also hoping that it'll burn less, I'm typically down about 1.5 quarts over 5k miles with the 0-40.
