They're both apples. Like Life Dies said, just different colors and stripes.
Actually I have been lucky enough to drive a RUF Turbo before. Have you? Anyway no need to justify anything to you, RUF speaks for itself! No point in arguing with the guy who thinks a PSI car, or any Turbo car for that matter has no Turbo lag . Go get some real facts and report back.

I think that what Colin was trying to say is that the Turbo lag is very minimal and he is correct.

If anyone is in the Bay area they should go check this car out.

Have you driven a PSI car before? You may be surprised. It probably has as little of a "turbo lag" as a comparable Ruf. Turbo lag is a technical issue. I as a driver, only cares about the perceived lag from the time I nudge the pedal to the time my *** and my head actually feels something. I can still say that my PSI car now has much less of a perceived lag than before, simply because it pulls that much quicker. So far, everyone who has driven my car agrees with the before and after difference. Those people's opinions are the only ones that counts.

Ruf cars are great cars that also cost a pretty penny. I think a PSI powered car is a decent alternative to Ruf.

It feels strong with no CEL, MAF, or plugs issues, which is what I'd expect from a quality product that's gone through sufficient R&D.

No secret, turbo lag is a direct function of your A/R ratio. This is a function of the turbo shell and the impellar size. The lower the A/R ratio of the turbo, the less lag. Too low of a ratio and it will become twitchy. Not unlike an over carburated NA motor. The problem with too low of an A/R ratio is the top speed will suffer.

Im just happy i have the chance to race such cars against each other.

The best race i had with our r turbo was against a chap with 580-600bhp, he was really surprised how he 6 car lengths behind by the end of the mile and a half!

Maybe my post was invisible
The R Turbo will beat the PSI by almost 100 feet by the time the speedo reads 120 mph, or about 1000 feet.
Adam, would appreciate it if you could post a video of the run.

Care to state which german car mag tested the Ruf? Also, which model was it? The 550 or the 590? AWD or RWD? Wide- or narrowbody?

Sure: "Auto Zeitung, Issue: 12/03"
All I can tell you is that it is the RUF factory R Turbo "550" . 0-62mph: 3.7 sec.

hi guys i just wanted to share my view on my RUF 04 GT2 , i i also have 02 996TT built by EVOMS which is GT 900 which should be identical to todds car i raced both of my cars for a one mile race from a roll my 996TT killed my GT2 it gave him more than 6 car length and the 996TT kept going and going offcourse it would do that cause it has more hp but i was shocked of the performance of MY RUF i was hitting 1.2 bar and i know ruf would always underestimates their hp but their is no comparson whats so ever even if i race a stage 4gt 996tt i'm sure he will beat me cause i remeber having stage 4 gt it was really fast the good thing about my ruf setup is that my car is everyday use the power kicks in very gently its not agressive its quite not loud feels like factory setup and the car is running low boost which make the car reliable .
By the time you read my post i will be switching my ruf parts to evoms stage 4 gt american tunners always make more power than european tunners and japanese tunners maybe they are not reliable but if you are a person like me who is addicted to speed find a good american tunner and stick with him he will make you fly and enjoy your car everyday

Bahrain

A couple of points, you are not comparing apples to apples. GT900 vs. RUF 550?

The second thing is that you should mention that you are an EVOMS dealer just for transparency.

Third, take three laps around the track and time both cars and we will see if the GT900 still beats the RUF on the third lap, it will be so heat soaked that it will drop to less than 550 hp.

One always has to keep in mind these things while comparing. The PSI vs. RUF on the other hand is a fair comparison.
