Vibration level @ idle

My car runs great. But when idling I can clearly see and feel the empty passenger seat vibrating a bit. Do you guys have the same? If not I am now at 100k miles. Should I consider engine mounts?

Mine does not have the level of vibration that you mention but it is stock. I would inspect the motor mounts, I'm not sure if they are liquid dampening if they are look for leaking if not worn bushings etc. Bottom line I would replace if they have not been done in 100k but of course if you go for a stiffer mount it might be worse.

Mine vibrates a bit as well, I'm guessing its somewhat normal.

Ive got 17k miles and the passenger seat vibrates enough to be re classified as a sex toy. I do have a tubi exhaust but the shaking is what I would expect from a 427 with side pipes.

mmm635 is infamous around these partsmmm635 is infamous around these parts
The stock motor mounts are liquid filled - check for leaks. I have 85k on my '01 with solid motor mounts and it runs very smooth.

I had vibrations in my car when the clutch slave and acc. were going out. It was straining the belt circuit at the power steering pump due to a leak in the line. Basically, the vibrations can be from a number of different sources.

My '99 996 Cab did it all the time, my Turbo's done it since I bought it with 14,750 miles. I think it's a 996 thing.

My slave and acc changed. Clutch new. I had it before, since I bought the car with 30K miles. I just thought let's debate this. As I said car runs perfectly but it vibrates a bit at idle.

I cant speak for the 911 since mine has 13k but have owned a lot of cars and almost all needed new motor mounts around the 100k mark. My Audis are liquid filled and they started leaking.

Come to think of it the car has not vibrated now for a while. Had a battery go bad some time back. I wonder...
